Publisher's summary

Brandon Sanderson is one of the most significant fantasists to enter the field in a good many years. His ambitious, multi-volume epics (Mistborn, The Stormlight Archive) and his stellar continuation of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series have earned both critical acclaim and a substantial popular following. In Legion, a distinctly contemporary novella filled with suspense, humor, and an endless flow of invention, Sanderson reveals a startling new facet of his singular narrative talent, read by Audie Award-winning narrator Oliver Wyman.

Stephen Leeds, AKA 'Legion,' is a man whose unique mental condition allows him to generate a multitude of personae: hallucinatory entities with a wide variety of personal characteristics and a vast array of highly specialized skills. As the story begins, Leeds and his 'aspects' are drawn into the search for the missing Balubal Razon, inventor of a camera whose astonishing properties could alter our understanding of human history and change the very structure of society. The action ranges from the familiar environs of America to the ancient, divided city of Jerusalem. Along the way, Sanderson touches on a formidable assortment of complex questions: the nature of time, the mysteries of the human mind, the potential uses of technology, and the volatile connection between politics and faith. Resonant, intelligent, and thoroughly absorbing, Legion is a provocative entertainment from a writer of great originality and seemingly limitless gifts.

wonderful, witty listen

Where does Legion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was my first fiction audiobook but I loved it. I've now tried other fiction audiobooks and only one, The Golden Notebook, has pleased me more than Lesion.

What other book might you compare Legion to and why?

Maybe one of Winterson's young adult books. Very smart, very accessible. This was, however, way funnier.

Which scene was your favorite?

This whole book was good. The airplane scene was funny and smart.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, I immediately searched for more books by the author upon finishing, I was so pleased the author wrote this novella

Interesting story with good performance

I love Brandon Sanderson's Elantris and Way of Kings books. When this audio short story became available for free, it was a no-brainer to download. I liked the performance and the story, although I prefer fantasy in general and this is set in the modern-day.

Quick paced

Quick paced not action. Keeps you guessing. Once I got started I wanted more! Take a good mystery and skip the fluff but leave the essentials. A quick light read.

Great story, even better narration

Oliver Wyman does an amazing job narrating this Sanderson short story. I love all the different voices he uses for the different personalities. The story is provocative and leaves you guessing the whole way about how he did it. I hope that there's a sequel or even a series starring Legion.

Wow! I'm Hooked!

If you could sum up Legion in three words, what would they be?

You MUST listen!

Any additional comments?

Legion was the first book by Sanderson I listened to mainly because Audible had it on sale at the time and I thought I would give it a try. WOW...Great job audible! This book was so good I HAD to find other stories by Sanderson.

Legion is a must for any fan of shows like Monk or Sherlock Holmes type stories. The wonderful concept used for the main character left me wanting to know more. This story would make a great TV series. Hopefully there will be more journeys into the mind of Stephen Leeds (a.k.a. Legion)!

Clever and Enjoyable novella

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This was a fun novella from the distinguished Mr. Sanderson. The main character was instantly likeable and it was a unique take on an action story, with all the different personalities. It held my interest well and I actually wanted to go in the car somewhere so I could listen. The narrator with a nice job with varying voices. I have enjoyed other tales by Sanderson and would pick this narrator again for other audio books.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

10 heads are better than one!
