a good middle book that moves the story forward

it was meant as many middle books, it has to give information. a little harder to read than some of the others because it just has to be what it is. but it moves the story forward that has to be moved forward kind of like a wheel. kind of like a Wheel of Time

Much better than some of the previous books. I enjoyed this one thoroughly and am looking forward to the next.

Knife of Dreams

It’s a Wheel of Time novel. If you are this far into them then you know what to expect.

Strong start, scattered and faded ending

Towards the end it just felt all over the place and didn't grab me as much as the start did.

Improvement from the middle of the series

This book finally moved the series forward at a rapid pace after 5 or 6 books of stage setting and endless discussions about dress styles, bosom, handsome women, and soap opera fluff. Character arcs started to move. More like the first 3 to 5 novels in the series. Lots going on. If you’ve made it this far, DON’T STOP NOW!

So, you'll read it anyhow

So, if you're like me you're in for a nickel, in for a dime on this series. If you've read the other 10, you're bound to read this just to see what happens.

Welcome to Knife of Dreams, the second to last book of the Wheel of Time series and well...its good, but its no Great Hunt, Shadow Rising, Fires of Heaven, its not even a Crown of Swords.

Dont get me wrong, its still enjoyable because Jordan is finally getting around to fulfilling all of the prophecies and foretellings that characters have had over the last 10 books, but I get the feeling that while he still writes in big blocky paragraphs, he is rushing to tie things up.

Overall, if you've read the entire series you're reading one of the better ones since book 7, but read w/ gaurded expectations as this isnt a mind blowing experience.

Strong showing

This version of The Knife of Dreams was wonderfully done. The only problem I had was the fact that during the switching between the narrators and the inconsistency noted of sometimes stating the chapters and sometimes not was a little distracting. The only advice I would give for editing would be to attempt to edit the switch from the male narrator and the female narrator to make it a little more fluid as well as standardizing the intro into a chapter whether the number is left out completely or is stated before every one. I enjoyed this book a whole lot though and was impressed with what was done to enhance the story after having read and re-read the book a number of times. Bravo

Lots of Forward Plot Movement

Perhaps a little sadly, you can sense the author may have known his time was short as the plot moves along much more quickly here in Book 11 than most of the previous books. We finally get resolution on a handful of plot lines that have carried through at least several books and a clear path seems to be charted towards the end of the series. I'm looking forward to jumping into the next three books authored by Brandon Sanderson as I'm a fan of all his other series and know he'll do this storyline justice like no other author could.

Audio skips. You miss for phrases and sentences.

Otherwise just as amazing as the rest of the series. You should definitely check out the rest of Robert Jordan and look into Brandon Sanderson.
