Publisher's summary

The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

In Knife of Dreams, the eleventh novel in Robert Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, Tarmon Gai'don, the Last Battle, is upon Rand al'Thor—and now the Dragon Reborn must confront the Dark One as humanity's only hope.

The dead are walking, men die impossible deaths, and it seems as though reality itself has become unstable…

Abandoning Rand’s war against the Dark One, Perrin Aybara has made his own truce with the Seanchan in his obsessive quest to save his wife Faile from the Shaido and destroy their mutual enemies. To achieve victory, Perrin must render the Shaido Wise One channelers in Malden powerless. But even as he puts his desperate plan into action, Masema Dagar, the Prophet of the Dragon, moves against him.

Traveling with circus performers through Seanchan-controlled Altara, Mat Cauthon attempts to court Tuon, the Daughter of the Nine Moons, to complete their fateful prophesized marriage. Despite being surrounded by Seanchan seeking to kill her, Mat’s intended leads him on a merry chase while he wages guerrilla warfare to protect her.

Knowing he cannot defeat the Dark One while at war with the Seanchan, Rand brokers for a truce with the Daughter of the Nine Moons. Unaware of Tuon’s actual location, the Dragon Reborn walks into a trap set by the Forsaken Semirhage, who possesses knowledge about his powers that will either shatter or steel his resolve in the forthcoming conflict.

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

Critic reviews

"Explodes with motion, as multiple plot lines either conclude or advance, and the march to Tarmon Gai'don, the climactic last battle between the Dragon Reborn and the Dark One, begins in earnest." (Publishers Weekly)

"The battle scenes have the breathless urgency of firsthand experience, and the...evil laced into the forces of good, the dangers latent in any promised salvation, the sense of the unavoidable onslaught of unpredictable events bear the marks of American national experience during the last three decades." (The New York Times)

"Jordan has a powerful vision of good and evil, but what strikes me as most pleasurable...is all the fascinating people moving through a rich and interesting world." (Orson Scott Card)

He has woven another masterpiece.

This is an amazing book. In this book everything is more serious than previous books. These stories are long and very detailed. Robert Jordan has really created a complete world. With language, geography, nations people and their cultures. He didn't leave out any point. Even when you think something may be dragging or slow you are wrong. There is no detail or word unimportant to the story. Every detail or conversation no matter how simple ends up being important to some aspect of the story even if its multiple books later. I can't say much on the narrating its good. Yet I'm extremely picky when it comes to voices. If you are looking to read this and have not read the precious books start at the beginning. If you have there is no point in reading this because you already know how amazing this series is. Enjoy.

Variable quality of the recording

Some technical issues with the recording. Variable quality and some stuttering of the sound. Hope this will be improved.

First WoT Audio Book of Many

I had almost given up on the series after the previous 3 slow plodding novels. I only purchased this book because I needed something long to accompany some monotonous work I was doing.

Book 11 is the first WoT audio book I've listened too and has reaffirmed my love of the series. Not only did I love the movement in the story, which has been too long in coming, but also the medium with which it is presented.

Though the readers pronunciation of some names and nuances in speech and stresses are different than my own, they paint a wonderful picture. I also love the voice acting as it brings a consistency to the myriad of characters and assists me in remembering just who is in the scene.

Because of this I have decided to start the series again using only audio books and I'm really excited.

loving it

This book and the series present a catch 22. I love the characters and SO want to find out what happens, but at the same time I don't want the story to end. I am very pleased with the narrators and the way female and male perspectives are read by coordinating narrators.

Still an uneven effort.

Jordan’s last novel in the WOT certainly has some great sequences and, best of all, concludes some plot lines that went on far too long. Still, the novel has sections that are plodding, but I suppose one has come to expect that after reading/listening so many books. Now on to Sanderson’s concluding effort....

more action in this one

It has more events happening for different characters so it is not all about one person.

Great book

Exciting and captivating on many occasions. Amazing voice performances. Though the female narrator talks mostly aggressively, that is just to reflect how the women in the story are... Quite funny actually.. 😄

So far this is in my top 2 in the series!

Loved how the story had started to tie up loose ends. While still leaving a few.

Fix the audio!

This book is amazing, as are all the others. However, there are portions that skip, repeat, and cut out completely. It even cuts out right at the very end, which is EXTREMELY disappointing.
