Publisher's summary

Talk radio host and werewolf Kitty Norville has agreed to appear on TV's first all-supernatural reality show. She's expecting cheesy competitions and manufactured drama starring shapeshifters, vampires, and psychics. But what begins as a publicity stunt will turn into a fight for her life.

The cast members, including Kitty, arrive at the remote mountain lodge where the show is set. As soon as filming starts, violence erupts, and Kitty suspects that the show is a cover for a nefarious plot. Then the cameras stop rolling, cast members start dying, and Kitty realizes that she and her monster housemates are the ultimate prize in a very different game. Stranded with no power, no phones, and no way to know who can be trusted, she must find a way to defeat the evil closing in before it kills them all.

Totally entertaining!!

A great read, Hollywood-material, very entertaining!!! I wouldn't be surprised if they make a movie of it in the future. Marguerite Gavin is as always superb & my top favorite!

My favorite Kitty so far

This was my favorite of the Kitty stories so far. Character development has come along nicely, Kitty has come into her own strength.

Loved it!

Would you listen to Kitty's House of Horrors again? Why?

Yes! I plan on listening again asap.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kitty is the given favorite, but I really liked Lee. I wish his character could have been developed more so he could be in future stories.

What does Marguerite Gavin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

When she speaks, I really "hear" the characters and not some woman trying to sound like a man. However, I wish someone would tell her how to pronounce lycanthropy and telepathy correctly. It really throws me off and takes me out of the moment.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

absolutely!

Even Werewolves get scared

This a fun series. It deals with race relations between vampires, humans and werewolves. Kitty is radio talk show host who uses her platform to enlighten others. She has a real sense of justice and honor that always gets her in trouble with the bad guys. There are some memorable, lovable, characters here that will really strike a chord with you. The narration is great. It is fun light entertainment

The narrator gives life to Kitty

Would you listen to Kitty's House of Horrors again? Why?

I would listen to Kitty's House of Horrors again because I enjoy this series and the narrator is especially good at bringing Kitty to life.

What other book might you compare Kitty's House of Horrors to and why?

I would compare Kitty's House of Horrors, and the Kitty Norville series, to the Sookie Stackhouse world, but much with much better writing and more consistency. What makes them similar is the strong theme of how society reacts when they become aware of the existence of paranormals.

Have you listened to any of Marguerite Gavin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have really enjoyed Marguerite Gavin in several other of the Kitty Norville books. She does a particularly good job of capturing the DJ vibe to give voice to Kitty. Recently, I also started The Hollows series, also narrated by Marguerite. The narration has been just as good in this series. She does a fantastic job with creating distinct voices for a broad range of characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Who are the true monsters?

Any additional comments?

I give a lot of credit to the narrator for my enjoyment of this series. In previous books there have been a lot of "on air" scenes. Marguerite makes what could be boring scenes interesting and lively.

Kitty Norville at it's best!

I really enjoyed this one! It's probably my favorite of the Kitty Norville series. Interesting storyline about a reality show that takes a bad turn. I love the narrator; she's perfect for these books. If you like this series, you'll definitely enjoy this one!

Kitty and Reality TV

Wow! I love Kitty, and this story was great! This was not a weak link in the Kitty Norville chain. A good story with a lot of emotion, both good and bad. Don't skip this one!

I love these books

love the way kitty has grown over the course of these books. they have really grown on me. and the mythology of the beings in these books are their own, without being drastically different from the standards we've grown up with. really enjoyed this story and looking forward to the next.

Kitty sure does attract some weirdos

A lodge miles from anywhere, some supernatural, no electricity, and a bunch of hunters. What could go wrong?

Plenty of action. Full of emotions

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Defintely would recommend this series and this book.
I felt as if I was one of the protagonist with all the terrifying fears that Kitty and her companions went through.
I am not sure that this is my favorite book in the series as I was scared more than I would care to admit; on the other hand, if a writer can make me feel this much through such a book, I can only bow my head and say thank you for allowing me to be along Kitty and her terrifying adventure and feel like one of Kitty's friend and only wish I could have done something to help. The only thing I could was to listen to the book in one straight session (almost did. It took me 2 days to find the time to listen)

Which scene was your favorite?

I really like one the last scene when Kitty and Anastasia talk in the hospital; this is a hint of things to come in possible new adventures. A fearful future with new Alliances (probably friends) that can't be denied. Love that Kitty is becoming a strong leader without the arrogance that could be associated with others (if they were in her situation)

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Who's the real monster?

Any additional comments?

Love the series. Can't wait to get to the next.
