Publisher's summary

The country's only celebrity werewolf, late-night radio host Kitty Norville prefers to be heard, not seen. But when she's invited to testify at a Senate hearing on behalf of supernaturals, her face gets plastered on national television. Kitty has been in hot water before, but jumping into the D.C. underworld brings a new set of problems - and a new set of friends and enemies, including the vampire mistress of the city; a super-hot Brazilian were-jaguar; and a paranoid, Bible-thumping senator who wants to expose Kitty as a monster. Kitty quickly learns that in this city of dirty politicians and backstabbing pundits, everyone's itching for a fight.

Winner in the series.

If you could sum up Kitty Goes to Washington in three words, what would they be?

Fun. Entertaining. Successful.

Any additional comments?

The second in the series was a good continuation and as well done as the first. Good fast paced story. Interesting characters. Nice details of locale. Moved the series along well. If you like this genre this is a good one.

excellent

Expertly narrated story with plenty of action in this listen. Kitty keeps being used but always comes out on top, sort of. Looking forward to the next book.

Great characters!

A whole new set of characters in Washington DC...and Kitty meets and greets them all! Lots of political and ethical controversy...takes animal testing to a whole new meaning. Kitty has to appear in DC for a congressional hearing...and trouble surrounds (as usual)her. Fast paced and fun!

Pretty good

What made the experience of listening to Kitty Goes to Washington the most enjoyable?

I liked listening to more of Kitty's radio shows (though they're fewer in this book due to the shorter timeline). Seeing how she does on the road and in D.C. was great. Also enjoyed seeing some of the secondary characters again.

Any additional comments?

My main problem is how the author glossed over some important scenes barely giving any details about them. I also didn't always agree with Kitty's decisions, but I suppose I can see how they made sense to her.

A filler book inbetween two good ones

This book is about Kitty finding herself, it could have been split up between one before and the one after needless to say it was still enjoyable. Something about the name "Kitty" turned me off this book for about a year, finally I gave into to all the recommendations. I am glad I did. She is funny and so unlucky, it reminds me of Stephanie Plum in Janet Evanovich series, but much much more unlucky. I got hooked quickly and I only have one book left in the series. Each book builds on the last, and average about 7 hours a piece just enough time for Kitty to get herself in trouble and right back out of it again. This is not a deep book but enjoyable just the same. It's light at times, funny, and then serious but not so overwhelming that you can't set it down and come back to it. Its a good light read and the narrator was just perfect for the book, she tells the story in a light enjoyable way, and she has become the voice of Kitty in my mind.

I like where Kitty is headed!

Kitty Norville is a lone wolf, traveling from town to town to host her radio show, The Midnight Hour. Ever since she left her pack and lost her best friend TJ, she feels alone and a little afraid. Not being sure what will become of her future, Kitty continues to play advocate for the lost and helpless vampires and lycanthrops alike through her talk show. When a Senate Comity is brought forth by a “scientist” who is searching for continuation of his funding for curing vampirism and lycanthrops, Kitty is called in to testify as an expert. Expert in what, being a wolf? So off Kitty goes to Washington...

Kitty really stirred some trouble in book one, Kitty And The Midnight Hour, which is what almost got her killed and introduced to the incredibly hot Cormac Bennett. She outed the supernatural community! The majority of the public still believe it's a hoax for the talk show, but the government and conspiracy theory folk don't think so. Kitty has no idea how far this scientist Dr. Paul Flemming has gone with his research, but she is about to find out, and not be a happy person. When she arrives in Washington, she is met by her attorney friend Ben O'Farrell. When Cormac appears the next day as security for the proceedings, all is complete in Kitty's world. She has back up if needed (although a little questionable at times) and her honest and brave Lawyer Ben. Let the games begin!

As soon as I heard this jerk Flemming talk about “his research” I knew I wasn't going to like him. Flemming was, or is, obsessed with the sups abilities and wants desperately to figure out how he can harness it to use in live human subjects. He doesn't give a shit about curing them, that was just a cover I think from the very beginning. My paranoid brain went into conspiracy theory mode right from the get go, and poor Kitty wasn't jaded enough yet to see it coming. Good thing for her she was likable and had people close by that cared for her. I loved the were-jaguar Luis, and the fact that he hooked up with Kitty. She needs an honest, strong man in her life, and oh God a Brazilian lover to boot **fanning myself**. Washington isn't like any other city that Kitty is used to, the were's are not part of packs, and the vampires all bow to one Mistress Alette. According to Alette, the were's are a dangerous and unpredictable bunch, and she warns Kitty to stay away from them. But like everything else, this too is not true. As Kitty digs deeper in the Flemming and the local were's, she uncovers the truth, something they have all been hiding from each other and themselves. Kitty Norville is one kick butt character! She is smart, well educated, successful, and knows what she wants. She knows when to lower her head and keep quiet, and she knows when to strike while the iron is hot! Kitty is no one's door mat and I've got the feeling she's just getting started.

Narrator Review

Marguerite Gavin narrates for Vaughn in this fantastic paranormal series. I have had the pleasure of hearing Marguerite before and I absolutely love her! She has such a golden liquid voice and it works perfect for a were talk radio host! I am so glad that Gavin is on board with Kitty's series because I am really digging the new series and now I can relax knowing such a great narrator is on the job!

Kitty Goes to Washington

Kitty Norville is a host of a late night radio show for supernaturals and she is a werewolf. After being forced out of Denver, Kitty decides to see the country so she buys a car and takes her show on the road for a while. Her show is as popular as ever and she even gets a senator to appear as a guest on the show.

Kitty is summoned to Washington DC to testify in a senate committee hearing, lead by the Senator who appeared on her show. Kitty convinces Ben, her attorney to accompany her to the hearings so that she doesn’t get herself in to any major trouble. When she arrives in Washington, she is escorted to the home of the Vampire who leads the city and is “invited” to stay with her, even though Kitty made arrangements to stay at the same hotel as Ben. She is also asked not to leave the house alone, but this doesn’t suit Kitty because she wants to see the city and try to find other werewolves.

I liked the story that unfolds during this book, Kitty learns to trust her instincts more and more though she still has room to grow, as you will see at the end of the book.

If you were a fan of book one, you will enjoy this book as well. At the time of this book, I have finished book 3 and plan to continue the series. As in the first book, the narrator is amazing. She delivers Kitty’s voice in such a believable way and completely embodies the radio show host.

Talk, no action.....

Cant put my finger on it but its a long hard listen. Story is slow and it makes you want to fast forward to get to a little action. All in all the book is ok for what it is. I hope she picks up the stories a little in the future...the price is right...
