Publisher's Summary

For six long Martian months, John Carter has haunted the terrifying Temple of the Sun. Inside the walls of this mysterious revolving tower is his beloved wife, Dejah Thoris, the beautiful princess of Barsoom. Worse yet, his wife is trapped there with the lovely but wicked Phaidor, who has sworn to make John Carter her own - even if it means murder. How can Carter gain access to the Temple, whose doors swing open only once a year? And when he does find his way inside, will he find Dejah Thoris's welcoming embrace - or her corpse?

"Magnificent!! Scott Brick narration was Wonderful!"
Where does John Carter in The Warlord of Mars rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Top Class!!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When John Carter found his Son and when he was reunited with his wife and son together in the end!

    Any additional comments?

Magnificent!! Scott Brick narration was wonderful I felt like I was there and each time John Carter when to battle Scott Brick voice made me want to stand and cheer for John Carter. There are moments of surprise and shock this book kept me on the edge of my seat to the end. The ending came to soon it made we look for the next book. I wanted to hear how it ended. But sad to say the next in the John Carter books was not narrated by Scott Brick. I tried to listen to the other Narrations but all fall short and I did not go any further the book series. When Scott Brick Narrates the next John Carters books I will get them all.!!

"Excellent. Even on my 100th (or so) read."
What did you love best about John Carter in The Warlord of Mars?

This is one of the first sci-fi/fantasy novels I ever read as a kid. Since then I have re-read the entire series at least twice a year for about 35 years running.

What was one of the most memorable moments of John Carter in The Warlord of Mars?

The fight with the giant wasp.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    The end scene

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I doubt they'll make another JC movie. Which is a shame. I really enjoyed the one Disney did a few years ago.

    Any additional comments?

This is just like every other John Carter of Mars book. Contrived, repetitive, silly.

Yet oh, so fun. Turn off your brain and just enjoy it.

"An excellent end to an amazing chapter of the story of barsoom!"

This is the end of the first half of the story of Barsoom, as John Carter and Deja Thoris find their happy ending together, and the shift of focus turns to Carthoris, their son in the subsequent books. This book was incredibly interesting, well structured, action packed, and an absolute thrill ride from start to finish! I loved this and the previous two books, and will keep them in my collection of all time favorites! Great story, great narrator, 5 out of 5!

I have enjoyed Edgar Rice Burroughs's works since childhood. Scott Brick does an excellent job of bringing this story to life.

The narrator was great and in fact I think I'll choose another title by this narrator.
The plot was very boring (spoiler alert)..like super Mario Brothers..just when you get to the princess she's taken away again several times lol

Wild and sincere, unintentionally goofy at times. SiFi written by a personality shaped in the timeframe that Steampunk references. Check your 21st century earthly brain at the door.

    "Hurrah!"

It's no secret that I love Rice-Burroughs. Some of the plot is guessable but I found that I was so caught up in the moment that I didn't want to think ahead-draw the book out as far as possible!
