Publisher's summary

Susan Calvin is about to enter her second year as a psych resident at the Manhattan Hasbro teaching hospital when a violent crime strikes her very close to home. When she was young, Susan lost her mother in a terrible car wreck that also badly injured her father. She now believes the accident was an attempted murder by government powers who wanted her parents dead. Susan has always known that there was a faction of the U.S. government that wanted to hijack her father’s work for military use. Now, it seems that faction is back. As she struggles to overcome her pain and confusion as well as deal with her studies, Susan finds herself hunted by violent anti-tech vigilantes who would revert mankind to the dark ages - and at the same time watched very closely by extremists who want high-tech genocide. Somehow she must find a way to stop them both.

This is fan fiction. Was not written by Asimov.

What disappointed you about Isaac Asimov's I Robot?

I thought I was purchasing a title by Asimov, but this is fan fiction. It reads like a simple detective novel. Very disappointing. I found it difficult from this site to determine this is not an Asimov book.

Disappointed

This book has very little to do with the earlier robot stories by Isaac Asimov. A very misleading title. It's more medical mystery than science fiction. Wasn't what I expected.

really over written and dull. sub par

the overly perfect main characters, the overly explained jokes, the constant medical jargon. it really just wasn't fun. All tedious with too many little discussions, and no over arching theme.

feels like fan fiction

It is fan fiction, whoops. Great story, awesome idea, but the execution was poor.

Id give it a 4.5/7.

Misleading title unfortunate - great author!

The title, which alludes to Asimov's "I, Robot" series, is misleading: this is a medical mystery book more in line with something Michael Crichton might have written. I was prepared to dislike this novel, but quickly became enchanted with the author's intricate knowledge of medicine and psychiatry. I do wish the title was not so far afield because Reichert's book stands on its own, and is worthwhile reading.

Very similar to the 1st book but more surprises n twists. I will start the 3rd book to finish the series.
