Audie Award Nominee, Best Teens Category, 2013

Not so very long ago, Eragon - Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider - was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.

Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chances.

The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaësia? And if so, at what cost?

This is the much-anticipated, astonishing conclusion to the worldwide bestselling Inheritance cycle.

Heart wrenching

It continues to baffle me how Paolini grasps the intricacies of certain facts of life. So many times I see myself in Roran as he ferociously defends and protects his wife and child. He consistently pulls me into the story to the point that I have to have experienced it at least half a dozen times at this point.

Wasn't crazy about the ending.

As with the others, this book definitely delivers. The only thing I didn't like was the very ending. I don't know how to give you a review of it without giving it away, so that's not what I'm going to do. All I can say is, listen to it for yourself, and make your own opinion. You definitely want to give this book a listen, just because I didn't enjoy the ending doesn't mean you won't. This is a fantastic book, and you definitely would not want to miss it. And if you don't know what happens with the conclusion of Galbatorix and Eragon, you would hate yourself forever. Conclusion of that was absolutely Epic, and I think that the fact that it continue past that point was great. Gives a little of how life would progress after the final fight between those two characters. I guess I would say the very ending is what I didn't like, judge it for yourself.

great book and performance

Doyle delivers a show stopping performance for the end of a series that nearly defined the end of my childhood. This is how the the series was meant to be experienced.

My Favorite Series I’ve ever read

I have read this book series 5(+1 if you include listening to it) times over the years and it has yet to get old. I highly doubt it ever will. This series I highly suggest.

Great story

Hate that it had to come to an end, wish a few things would have wrapped up a little different but all in all a good story

Perfect Conclusion to the Series

After reading some of the other reviews for this book, I was set to be disappointed and unsatisfied, but to my delight it turned out to be a seamless continuation of the story with no let downs or dissatisfying conclusions. It was perfect in my opinion and Christopher Paolini at his best. If you liked or loved the other books in the series, I see no reason why you would not like or love Inheritance just as much.

Although I have always liked this story, I never expected to be so sad to see it come to an end, but that is life, even in fiction.

Great final chapter

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Most certainly.. If you have read the first 3 you got to read (or listen to) this final chapter.

What does Gerard Doyle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

No one else could do justice to Sophia quite like Gerard.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Quite a few!

Any additional comments?

A must read (listen)

Its good but the end is a really big cliff hanger and it's sad I mean come.

You need to write another book that's good hey word good because some authors write a really good book and then write the worst book 2. I'm not saying that's you but it could be so please I love this book . 😫😩😂
