Publisher's summary

Joanne Baldwin is a Weather Warden. Usually, all it takes is a wave of her hand to tame the most violent weather. But now, she's trying to outrun another kind of storm: accusations of corruption and murder. So, she's resorting to the very human tactic of running for her life.... Her only hope is Lewis, the most powerful warden known. Unfortunately, he's stolen not one but three bottles of Djinn - making him the most wanted man on earth. Still, she's racing hard to find him - before the bad weather closes in fast.

What a pleasant surprise!

I rarely give 5 stars. Honestly, as a fellow author, I wish I could give more. Pros: identifiable characters, interesting magic system, well-researched weather and science, twists that weren't obvious, NO deus ex machina Cons: a little bit confusing, still not sure why Louis was in the position he was in at the end, I didn't find the relationship btwn her and Daniel super believable but in the end I did like it

Fantastic

Loved it. Terrific characters. The Weather Wardens is an Interesting and exciting new world for me to explore. This book was so good that I didn't want it to end but loved the way it did end.

This is a great series!

This was a really fun "read". The characters are great, the story has an ending. (I hate it when a author writes a partial book, it always feels like rip off).

I knew when I was only half way through the book, that I wanted to follow this series. The narrator is great. Dina Pearlman is a real talent.

I would recommend the "Weather Warden" to anyone that enjoys books like "One foot in the Grave" by Jeaniene Frost, and or "City of Ghosts" by Stacia Kane.

A great series

Just go ahead and down load the complete series because it is that good. The books end in a cliff hanger but you will enjoy it and race to complete the series. I did not know that weather could be so interesting.

Weather that could charge by the hour...

You know that phenomenon called Gun Porn? Where we get detailed, descriptive and practically sexually active descriptions of weaponry - the guns don't quite need to wear condoms, but it can be close? Well, this book swaps out the guns for weather systems, but the pornographic imagery remains.

Perhaps the word 'pornography' carries too much bias... how 'bout we call it weather that'll make you blush. But anyway, that's what this book contains. Lots of it! And I have to admit, I never thought weather could be so HOT this far north... hahahahaha...

There isn't any graphic human sex, and I don't think there was much in the line of foul language or gore... but what the book does have - other than weather, of course - is a lot of action and suspense and character development. I really like the very original concept behind the Wardens and the Djinn and how Caine managed to make us like/care about the characters, the weather, heck, even an old car or two. I even liked the (somewhat odd) ending: it managed to wrap up this story, but leave the reader with a hook for the next book.

The narration is... pretty good... though I found it to be a bit "breathless" sometimes. Certainly good enough that it didn't stop me from buying the rest in the series from Audible.

A fantasy worth reading. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Weather wardens are a complex venture

Not for me

I bought this on sale and on a whim. I wish I hadn't. Out of the 424 books I own on Audible this will be the first that I don't finish. Probably shouldn't have finished a couple of others, but I liked the characters and the story enough to wade through the smut and finish. Luckily, out of all those books only a small handful have been bad enough not to finish. Usually I try to do my homework.

I do NOT like books that have tons of swearing, especially f words, and too graphic sexual encounters. I stopped when it said she was about to describe how she'd lost her virginity. I found that I just didn't care enough to go on and I didn't want to know how she'd lost her virginity. Talk about OFF topic!

I LOVE fantasy. I LOVE weather. I've read other stories about weather mages and have LOVED them. I love adventures and drama and all kinds of books, just hate the romance genre.

I'm not sure what this book was supposed to be but it is somewhere between a romance novel and fantasy. I LOVE pure fantasy authors. This one just wasn't for me. I so wish books were rated. This one would be R or worse. What I read was definitely R.

The narrator was good. I just can't recommend the author or the story.

I really, really tried...really!!!

I know most of the reviews on this book are good and I really, really tried to like it but I just couldn't. I'm writing this review before I ask for my credit back. First, the story begins but you feel as if you are in the middle of the book instead of beginning. I found my self checking several times to make sure I had book one. I felt confused and like i was missing something. The character keeps referring to something that has happened but that you know nothing about, it was distracting and annoying. Because of this insane way of starting the book you have endless flashbacks to tell you the story which made me want to pull of my ears and throw them. Tell me what happened let me be a part of it so I can go through the story knowing what you are talking about instead of getting a little at a time through yet another flashback. I hate it movies, series and especially books. Due to this annoying way of telling a story i just couldn't continue or care what happened next. The narrator. She did an awesome job I really enjoyed listening to her and will look for her name in the future she made the story more believable. But even with her excellent reading/acting skills couldn't make me want to stay and continue to be frustrated by a book that is supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable. This being said I actually like this author and have enjoyed some of her other books so she can do better this was just maybe an experiment gone wrong. So listing to this book is at your own risk really you may love it you may hate it but if you hate flash backs like me save the credit.

Only 10 hours?

I'm about 1/2 way thru this book and it feels like 10 years...
I enjoyed Ms. Caines Morganville Vampire series, and was looking forward to more of her writing.
This book didn't deliver. For a woman in peril story, the pacing and narration is very slow.
Do we really care if the heroine looks like Prince threw up on her?
