There are four more books to come in this series that will take you back into a land of Arthurian legend where a final climatic battle unlike any other will take place.
Based on the legend of the return of King Arthur, when his people would be in need of the mythological and legendary King of lore once again.

very good listen easy to follow
his voice was soothing and it kept me intrigued to keep listing
no real extreme reaction I did laugh at times
defiantly worth the time to listen I did enjoy very much
It's a hard question to answer because I don't tend to have time to listen again but I did enjoy this and certainly would have no qualms about doing so.
Interestingly, I found Creature to be one of the more interesting characters, though of course one should root for the protagonist!
Creature was probably one of my favorites, but I have a predilection of unusual voice characters.
I smiled pleasantly through this. No extreme reactions. I have gotten to know the author a little but had not yet had the chance to hear/read her writing style and I was quite pleasantly surprised by it. There were some very clever moments in this story.
I wanted to rate this a 5, but had to give it a 4. I felt that the story was strong and then suddenly took a rapid turn on certain parts and I would love to see Geraldine stretch her wings more on her subsequent books and really let her cleverness hold a more steady pace towards the end. The climactic scene happened a little too fast for me. As for Alex Hyde-White, you have to hear the voice change at the very end in the credits to REALLY appreciate how well he converted his voice for some of these parts and I was most impressed by that. However, for my particular ears, I would have liked his pace to be just a tad faster. Overall great job. I'm looking forward to the next installment!
Addicted to any type of Romance/Erotica audio books.
I not a big fan of fantasy and I enjoyed this book. The characters were realistic, story was original and the narration was spectacular. I wish the story would have been more, maybe more background, more emotions or more world building, I'm not really sure what it was missing for me but it did seem to be missing part of the story, almost as if the author had more to say but didn't. I really liked the writing and the way it's written back and forth between both POV's with perfect grace. I also really enjoyed Percy and feel like he could become a swoon worthy hero. I will be listening to book 2!
I enjoyed both the story and the narrators voice and interpretations
The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagwa
Bones of Faerie series by Janni Lee Simner
Forever Fae series by L.P. Dover
I liked learning how Victoria grew as a person, how she found her strength
The descendants of the Fae left behind still wait for the return of the Seer’s and Guardians.
I tried to listen to this as I did other projects around the house but I found this story needs to be focused on.
I Love a great supernatural tale, a Love story, PNR, a Cool Mystery and Most Sci-Fi....if there are vampires, weres or witches in it, that's a plus! Basically I am a 40+ y/o young at heart woman rediscovering the wonderful world of books and am now addicted! Lol I LOVE AUDIBLE!!!!!
I listen to A LOT of books...and although this is not in my top ten...It is enjoyable and well worth a listen!
I dont think I want to compare this...its almost a book I would put in the classics category....because it takes me back in time to fairies and dragons and swordsman...just my vibe on it....
I liked his voice and performance very much....he is soothing to listen to, and i would listen to him again any time!
I liked when Victoria got strong enough to stand up for herself!!!
*** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***
I quite enjoyed this, not knowing what to expect going in, I was curious to start this...It did NOT disappoint....This story is of a young poor girl whose mom sends her away to her aunt and uncles house to basically earn her keep, and they discover she has gifts...she attracts Fae! They are quite evil and become vampires who feed mainly off the fae for there youthful qualities in there blood! One of the fae men that Victoria attracts....is meant to be her true soulmate and this gives her the strength to escape! All in all a great story.....and I am starting #2 now! A thumbs up and a listener recommend from me!
I am a reader-reviewer, and love to help out all authors, especially up and coming authors.
I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review *
I am a huge lover of audiobooks and of fantasy so I was excited to get the opportunity to listen to this book in exchange for a review. This book was a little different than I am used to but not in a bad way, just different. The story was original for the most part. I actually thought the whole story was until the smallest mention of Merlin. Not that this book is another "Arthur" book, because it's not AT ALL. But there is a relation there. Besides that, beautifully written original story. This definitely is an audiobook that you need to either sit down with the purpose if listening to or listen while driving. It is a story that you need to lay attention too, but it deserves your attention and you will not regret giving it. I'm off to listen to book 2 now, but please pick up some format of this story and get started on the series! It is well worth your time and money
This book wasn't bad - it just felt like it wasn't fully written yet. The writing was pretty solid, but could have used a bit more editing and reworking for most impact and better flow. The characters and their alternating POVs worked, but overall the book felt more like an introduction to their stories than the full novel. My only quibble was that the historical time period seemed to shift - with modern terms and traditional/fantasy terms used together to make the setting a bit muddy. The narration by Alex Hyde-White is very good. I think that the author shows promise and that with a bit more experience, this could develop into a really satisfying fantasy series.
I have not read the printed version but I think I'd rather listen then read this book. It was such an easy listen. He made it so easy to hear the different characters and moods/feelings during every scene. I think that warrants a listen instead of a read.
I can't think of one like this one but it's not often I find a fantasy book that I enjoy enough to listen or read. This being said, there is a movie called Stardust & Secrets of Moon Acres that this reminds me of, and the Golden Compass with the mature-ness of Twilight or better (much better)...it's a hard book to categorize because it's different and more enjoyable then those I just stated.
No I haven't but I want to...
I'm horrible at tag lines but: "love conquers all" --- sounds cheesy but knowing the pain and desperation Victoria went through and that love broke through all that and made her into the women she was supposed to be and broke the first of the moon riddles make me say that tag line might work or something similar.
The development of the characters and the story, was so complete that I could 'see' the world!
Percy. I love how he knew he was 'different' in the mortal world, but didn't realize just how special he was until it was time to know!
Everything! Mr. Hyde-White is an amazing actor and brought very believable life to all of the characters.
Looking forward to future installments in this series!
He brings a calm, centered, focused and soothing quality to his narration. Very pleasant voice. Sometimes he sounds a bit like John Hurt :) His cockney accent is pretty good, too.
It has a charming feel of old-fashioned storytelling to it.
The writing has a straightforward quality that works very well for the audio format. It feels like someone is sitting down and telling me a story. The setting is kept fairly vague, which adds to the legendary feeling of it.
The story does jump about a bit tonally. It feels a bit Narnia-like at first, then takes a darker turn. If you don't have a problem with that, it is quite enjoyable.
"OK but needs more detail"
It's far too short. It's a novella, not a book. It could easily be twice the length just by adding some detail and fleshing out the cardboard characters. It reads like a synopsis. I kept waiting for the proper story to begin.
He was OK. He has a good voice but I was puzzled and a bit put off by the very strange phrasing, and odd pauses in the middle of sentences. He differentiated between the characters well.
It certainly doesn't inspire me to listen to the next book. Which is a shame, because potentially, this could be a good series. I didn't hate it, it was just a bit forgettable.
"Fairytale characters without a decent storyline"
Lack of believable characters. The flow of the book was more about telling you the history than about any believable story. Characterisations were poor. Statements such as something had indeed changed - blah, blah with no real reason for the statement. too simplistic by far.
Odd stilted delivery. Pauses in odd places. Odd voices for the characters. A mix of south London for some of the baddies with a mid-American for others.
