Northern Exposure. Even in Grundy, Alaska, it’s unusual to find a naked guy with a bear trap clamped to his ankle on your porch. But when said guy turns into a wolf, recent southern transplant Mo Wenstein has no difficulty identifying the problem. Her surly neighbour Cooper Graham, who has been openly critical of Mo's ability to adapt to life in Alaska, has trouble of his own. Werewolf trouble.
For Cooper, an Alpha in self-imposed exile from his dysfunctional pack, its love at first sniff when it comes to Mo. But Cooper has an even more pressing concern on his mind. Several people around Grundy have been the victims of wolf attacks, and since Cooper has no memory of what he gets up to while in werewolf form, he’s worried that he might be the violent canine in question. If a wolf cries wolf, it makes sense to listen, yet Mo is convinced that Cooper is not the culprit. Except if he’s not responsible, then who is? And when a werewolf falls head over haunches in love with you, what are you supposed to do anyway? The rules of dating just got a whole lot more complicated….

Great narration. I like to list this first as it can make or break a story.
Loved this story. Easy listerning and very entertaining. Will be impatiently waiting for any new books in audio from this author.
I really enjoy it when readers with similar reading interests list their favourite authors and series. It really helps me find new authors too follow. Mine are Charlaine Harris, Jeaniene Frost, Jennifer Estep, Faith Hunter, Molly Harper, Ilona Andrews, Kresley Cole, Deborah Harkness, Nalini Singh, Coreene Callahan and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
Yes, I would listen to this again. It was great for listening to whilst driving - although snorting with laughter when pulled up at the lights made me glad I was wearing sunglasses :D
All the characters were fun but I liked Mo the best for her dry, sarky humour and for not being afraid to bean a werewolf with a fire extinguisher!
I thought Amanda Ronconi really added to my enjoyment of the book with clearly separating the different characters (I loved the accents!) and also having the right tone for the humour.
For once being stuck in traffic wasn't a trial as I got to listen to more of the story, but I actually quite liked hearing it in installments and probably preferred that to listening to it all in one sitting.
This was my very first Audible book and I am so pleased that it gave me so much enjoyment. I have bought the second book and can't wait to start that one.
I was very happy that I could at last buy the book as unfortunately, due to the huge aggravation of geographic restrictions, I have been prevented from buying the ebook version.
I am a huge fan of the partnership between Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi, and this book was the best yet. There is no doubt it is not intended to be taken too seriously. These books are light, funny, clever and totally entertaining. Ronconi gives the perfect voice to Harper's characters, and I found myself laughing out loud while listening. I can't imagine a Molly Harper book in any other voice The characters in small-town Grundy, are charmingly eccentric - I loved them and laughed along with them. This is perfect for bed time listening. or if you're having a bad day. Fabulous and totally worth a credit! Get them all!!
I do like kick butt chick vampire slayers
paranormal sexy funny
Any of Molly Harpers books or the Undead and .... series
None before but she made the characters come alive for me. Very easy to listen too
Did not really consider the duration
Cannot wait for Molly to write some new stuff
I'm not generally a follower of either the supernatural or romance genres so this was not a book I would typically have chosen. I can't say what made me decide to give it a go but the Molly Harper / Amanda Ronconi team deliver some bizarre and comic results and have made me keen to find more of the same. The wonderfully matter-of-fact way the author deals with some of the more unusual aspects of the supernatural I found very appealing. All in all, a great, comedic listen with some laugh out loud moments.
I really enjoyed "the care and feeding of stray vampires". This was neither as funny nor as clever, and there was way more sex than I am comfortable listening to on audio in a public place! Sulky werewolves also aren't that appealingly to me - and I'm not keen on the "I have to hurt/abandon you to save you from me" give the girl some credit for having some brain and some guts.
Also, I'm Australian so I can't judge, but some of the accents seemed really weird to me. Do Alaskans really sound like that?
I love science fiction, crime fiction, history novels and biographies. Love my iPod and Audible - couldn't get by without it now!
I thought this was a great story with interesting characters. Harper makes an unbelievable scenario seem so plausible.
I really enjoyed this book and couldn't wait to get back to it.
The humour, the romance, it reminded me of Twilight
Romance and love scenes, sarcastic humour
Not a thing
I love Molly Harper books! It's not every day you want to read something apocalyptic and have the world in danger- sometimes you just want to sit back with a good listen or read and have a giggle with your improbable romance. Harper's books are like that. Naked Werewolf has a great story line( no spoilers:) lots of fun and crazy, colourful characters.
Amanda Ronconi is a wonderful narrator able to do so many voices and has good comedic timing and expression. This is an awesome collaboration of author and narrator and worth the credit. She is a narrator that I watch for as she gives a quality performance consistently.
I haven't read the print version, but I have to say I love Molly harpers books and her characters.
I can't really say who my favourite character is. If I have to choose I would have to say Evie. She's just to sweet.
Once again Amanda Ronconi did a fantastic job. Absolutely love her narrating books!
"Twilight for grown ups"
Like the other reviewer, I was a bit wary when I started listening to this, but I actually grew to really like her accent. The story itself is very enjoyable, I was a little disappointed when I realised how many parallels there were with Twilight (don't get me wrong, I LOVE twilight, but I was hoping for something a bit more original) I still really enjoyed listening to it, but was quite glad to be doing so on headphones as there are some quite explicit sex scenes!! Although there are some quite serious themes throughout the book, there are a lot of funny moments which had me laughing out loud. I love how squirmy any mention of Mo's parents made me feel, they are such brilliant characters, but I would not want to meet them! Overall it was really good and lighthearted to listen to, I only took off one star for the Twilight similarities.
Being English, getting used to the narrator's accent took me a while, but a couple of chapters in I saw it more as a good thing, adding more reality to the book. The book as a whole is very well written and the plot was exciting. I took to listening in my car on the way to work, desperate to finish it. I look forward to reading/listening to more from this author.
"So much fun!"
I really loved the characters, I laughed a lot and wished the story was a lot longer. The characters are strong, witty, sarcastic and can be bitchy. In a funny way. Just an awesome listen!!
I have listened to this twice and laughed all the way through
When he turned up on her doorstep with a mantrap on his leg
Yes. Amanda Ronconi's reading is really good. Gets the tone just right for this type of book. Not the book to listen to on a train, people keep wondering why you are laughing out loud.
Don't be put off by the title, yes the storyline is pure escapism but well written and if you are feeling a bit low buoys you up.. I know i'll read it agian some time.
"Molly Harper is a legend"
I love how the characters are easy to relate to and there are parts that make you laugh out loud. The two/three graphic sex scenes ruin the book for me but the rest of the book is amazing.
"Really enjoyable book"
This was a fun story and well read. I would definitely recommend it and will be listening to more in this series.
"Something fun for a change!"
Sometimes I just want to remember what fun books can be. This book was great. It's funny, light and current. If you want something enjoyable with no complicated sub-text I really do recommend this.
Bit like Twilight without all the angst!
I've listened to all the Molly Harper werewolf ones and am slowing picking my way through the vampire ones. Amanda Ronconi does a great job.
No - it's good for the journey to and from work.
"Daft, enjoyalble escapism"
This is light, enjoyable escapism that has nothing, whatwsoever to do with Twilight. No school, no vampires, no adolescents, no pining unrequited love - not sure what the reviewer who saw similarities is seeing. There’s one scene of heavy threatened sexual violence that was well written and not glossed over, and wasn’t comfortable to listen to, but otherwise, while there’s gory murders, there’s no actual violence that I can recall. On re-reading that sounds daft! What I mean is that there’s violence, but it’s “off-screen” as it were.
There’s sex - what urban fantasy book doesn’t have sex these days? This is straight, fully consensual sex in the context of a budding/established relationship,
I liked Mo’s determination to be everything her upbringing wasn’t (as in wacky and new age), but felt moving quite so far away was an extreme move to get away from pushy parents - why not just say no and stick to it?
Cooper is straight from the classic strong-and-silent mold, and as for his sister??? Talk about screaming, adolescent hissy-fitting - and she’s not even an adolescent. She right royally got up my nose, and deserved a major comeuppance - I really, really wanted Coop to turn his back on her to the extent she had him - ah well, I’m clearly less forgiving and more vindictive than many!
There’s no doubt where this is going, the identity of the baddy is clear a while before the actual denouement, the path of true lurve runs reasonably smoothly, apart from some noble self-sacrificing that get sorted eventually. Fun, well and engagingly narrated - worth the pennies.
"Exciting and funny!"
Yes I would! It is brilliantly funny.
I love Amanda's performance. She really brings out the comedy and romance of the story.
"Didn't want it to end....loved it!"
The writing had me crippled from the first chapter! Loved the style of writing and the quirky characters. The story was strong and surprised me at the end-in the good way! Loved everything about it!
Really loved Mo, she had a good humour and was brave! Loved Cooper too.. Totally delicious!
There were several... Brilliant throughout!
