Publisher's summary

Rae Kerrigan is three months away from graduating from Guilder Boarding school. She is now moonlighting as an operative for the Privy Council, a black ops division for British Intelligence. She's given a mentor, Jennifer, who fights like a demon - fast, tough, and incredibly strong-willed. Rae finds a strange maternal bond with her. At the same time, she finds a new friend when Devon disappoints her once again.

Childhood memories surface and evoke hidden secrets she is determined to solve. When the Privy Council asks for her help, she finds a friend in and a link to the Xavier Knights - another agency similar to the Privy Council. Through the mystery and secrets, she begins to question what the PC represents and where she stands.

Will she lose herself in the confusions of the past and present? What will it mean for her future?

Magical realism

I love the unique concept of tattoos that give abilities. Rae has lots going on and the story has such good character narrative. The voices and accents are extremely well done and bring it to life. If you like YA , coming of age, magical realism and a stand alone series I highly recommend this series

So many feelings, must start next book immediately

We continue to follow Rae as she discovers more about her parents and childhood. Some secrets are unravel and Rae fights to find out as much as she can about the past and determine if she can trust the PC. She is left hurt and confused as one persons he could depend on abandons her which leaders to a new relationship, that will be interesting to see explored more in future books. This book was full of new information as Rae learns more about her mom and uncovers memories from her childhood she had forgotten. This book was a fantastic addition to the series that has left be ready to rush into starting the next book to see what we find out next. We are left with a jaw dropping revolution that could change everything! Great read and narration!

Good book and fun series.

I love the story. I’m always anxious to get to the next book of a Good series and this one was no different. The narrator did a pretty good job except for the character Molly. She sounds like an Irish valley girl.
