Other pages were thin and desiccated, positively yellow from age, and crackled alarmingly as Van Richten turned them over. There were no ornate illuminations, no fussy borders, only lines of plain text in hard black ink. The flowing handwriting was a bit difficult to follow at first; the writer's style of calligraphy had not been in common use for 300 years. No table of contents, but from the dates it looked to be some kind of history.

Amazing narration
When you look forward to your commute each day, you know you've picked up a great audiobook. I listened to this trilogy over the span of two weeks and found the characters interesting and the story engaging.
The writing is a bit simplistic at times but the narration by Victor Bevine is great.
Thoroughly enjoyable and I've moved on to the next series of Drizzt books.

Love Drizt
I love the story of Drizt and I love that these novels have shaped the game of Dungeons and Dragons and it helps give some light to rules in the game.
I like the narrator but I feel that there isn't a huge distinction in voices.

Awesome!
R.A. Salvatore paints the most stunning paintings with his words. His battle scenes are second to none. I feel as though I can feel the weapons in my own hands. Narrator should be louder.

Amazing fantasy!
this was an amazing book to get introduced to the dark side of D&D. The whole book has you on the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next. great plot and an over all good time. a great read ( or listen lol )

A great introduction!!
this book was a great introduction into the world of Drizzt and that of the Drow. Be warned that the author doesn't do much but paint the world of the Drow in this book. They don't venture really out of the world that is the Underdark, but that's the point of an intro really. Gives a great sense of understanding to the world. excited to start the next one!

Loved it
I liked the familiarity of the fantasy creatures and monsters. I like stories about good vs evil. This one ended too soon. I guess I'll be listening to the next one.

Great start to a great series!
