A rising star in the fantasy genre, Michael J. Sullivan has built an ardent following for his Riyria Revelations saga, which draws to its epic conclusion in Heir of Novron.
On the holiday of Wintertide, the New Empire plans to burn the Witch of Melengar and force the Empress into a marriage of their own design. But they didn’t account for Royce and Hadrian finally locating the Heir of Novron—or the pair’s desire to wreak havoc on the New Empire’s carefully crafted scheme.
Heir of Novron contains Wintertide and Percepliquis, books 5 and 6 of Riyria Revelations.

This has been a wonderful fantasy series. But like all good things it must come to an end. This was one of those series that drew you in and became more captivating the more you read. Micheal J. Sullivan did a great job. I will defiantly keep an eye out for more books by this author.
This book and in fact the entire series is filled with good and great moments. The ending was one of the most enjoyable, memorable, and satisfying endings I have read.
He did an excellent job of using voices that made it easy to quickly identify which character was speaking.
Smiled a smile of satisfaction in the end.
I really loved all three books. The writer did a GREAT job at keeping the story interesting at every turn. He also did a great job wrapping up the story in the end.
This was my first experience with this author, but not my last.
Great writing + great voice = hours of satisfying listening.
This book is the best in the series. It has everything one could look for in epic fantasy. It has shades of LOTR (Remember, you shall not pass!). ASOIAF for the back stabbing / political intrigue and share number of characters getting chopped off. One of the last battles reminded me of a combat from 'First Law Series'. These are pretty big names and this book has elements from all these books in it.
This book had me hooked from the start, and it is one of those book which will entice you to take the long route home hoping for more traffic. Humor made me laugh, depth of characters made me feel for their sorrow and triumphs and felt that this book will give reader an emotional ride while telling a story spanning thousands of years. There are some surprises in the book for good measure. Use of language is great, it flows beautifully and very enjoyable.
Tim Gerad Reynolds narrates like a grandfather telling a story to children, and does it so effectively. I thoroughly enjoyed the narration, and I hope to listen to more books from the narrator.
I had a great time listening to this book, and I highly recommend this book.
Yes I have already. Finishing this series felt a bit like finishing Potter. I had to find out what happens in the first read/listen, then the second go-round was to really enjoy the story.
Myron. Love him! But I also really appreciated how he handled Archibald - I like how his finest hour gave a normal stock character nuance and depth.
Arista showing everyone who's boss with her water trick. Or chapter 24, cuz I'm a girl like that.
Myron's talk with Royce was quite nice. I also loved the imagery that came to mind during their trip to Percepliquis, especially the cave and the sea.
This has to be hands-down, one of the best narration performances I have heard to date. I am so surprised not to see Tm Gerard Reynolds doing high profile stuff. He's at the level of John Lee or Davina Porter for me. This is a great book to start but he absolutely takes it to the next level. It's the next best thing to having the book put to screen. Michael J. Sullivan got lucky with this guy and I hope he knows it. A bad or even average performance can ruin the best of books but I could just listen to these over and over because it's the best combination of book and narrator. These books remind me of Potter, LOTR but with a light straightforward style, so also like Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth. I really can't recommend this book and the entire series enough!
I am rarely surprised by endings to books, and hardly ever in a good way. You can guess all you want you will NEVER guess the ending. And yes it is better than any you could come up with-ever!
The amount of time spent laughing while the party was in tense situations.
All of the main ones. The voices he gives to the characters, I imagine would be the same ones I would have given them in my head while reading them.
Listened to over 15 SERIES so far and by far this was my favorite!
This series turned out to be a worthy investment - three lengthy listens, never got drawn-out, mystery, action, great payoffs to conflicts, characters that started to feel like old friends, and all woven by an apt narrator. Highly recommended.
When I saw this was released just the other day, I had to burn one of my credits. The series is great. Humor, action and a well developed story.
Royce is my favorite. The duality of man (Elf) and how the character transforms by degrees.
Laugh and I enjoyed every minute of the series.
I'm an LMT originally from the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago. I lived in NYC off and on for 15 years. I decided I had enough of long cold winters so summer of 2012 I relocated and now live in sunny Sarasota FL and loving every moment of it. My favorite thing to do is lay on the beach all day long listening to the waves and a great audible book.
I would definitely recommend this book, far more I would recommend the whole series
Before I got the book I read a review that stated "I did not see the plot coming". I figured armed with that info I would be able to formulate many possible outcomes and so I would not be surprised.
Guess what... I was totally surprised and blown away. I never saw that scenario, I was floored more than once when certain revelations came to light.
I'm not sure what I liked the most, there were so many things. The whole series was so well written, full of action, never a dull moment, plenty of suspense, humor, wonderfully and well built characters.
I laughed, I cried, I was scared, I was elated, my imagination was definitely challenged and satisfied by this totally believable world that was created. I almost want to set out to find this world and it's characters...lol
The leading characters of Royce and Hadrion were undeniable but I really loved Myron.
100% YES!!!... I laughed, I cried, I was in suspense, I was scared and elated and excited. nothing was missing. This series has replaced The Infernal Devices as my #1 in a series.
The gambit of emotions touched sadness, humor, and joy with every book in the series. What a wonderful ending for a great series. I didn't want it to end.
The relationship and hardships endured by both Royce and Adrian.
He captivated my attention with every sentence. Many audio books make you have to go back and recap. Not this one. He did an excellent job.
It was well done and yes, I shed a few tears of sadness and joy
best audio book since the Wheel of Time series.
Volume 3 of the Riyria Revelations contains the final two books of the series, book #5 Wintertide and book #6 Percepliquis. Michael J. Sullivan and Tim Gerard Reynolds reunite to bring all of the main characters back for a final crescendo. Unlike Volume 2 which leaves the listener hanging, Volume 3 ties every thing up nicely.
If you have enjoyed the first two volumes of this series then you are in for a treat as Percepliquis is definitely the best book of the entire series. Not only is it the most entertaining but Sullivan also goes the extra mile to bring all of the threads together. He masterfully weaves a complex tale full of suspense with big reveals and satisfying ends to the many character storylines. Royce and Hadrian are at their best here and I found myself laughing aloud many times.
Stop wasting time reading reviews and spend that credit. You will not be disappointed.
"An amazing story"
The Ryria Revelations series in general is a rather strong series and the final book in the duality audiobook "Heir of Novron" is by far the best. Among movies you can often find depictions based on the excitement level defined by time, usually peeking around the point of no return.
Where some of my other favorite series typically gave higher highs, but also lower lows the final books ride on an overall high level albeit with fewer peaks, but very few low points.
The series is highly rated, and amongst books ive read/heard i would put the final book in my top 10
There wont be any spoilers in this text and i am being deliberately vague
Though the primary plot point throughout the series can be reasoned by most sooner or later in the series, the final book still manages to throw curve balls that not only fit, but are immensely satisfying when discovered. For me personally swinging from suspected guesses to things i newer even considered.
The development and interaction between the characters grow and are also very good.
Myron also deserves his own special mention as his character is fantastic.
Tim Gerard does an excellent job through the entire series.
came together nicely. wrap up at the end was a little over extended a little Lord of the Rings, if you know what I mean.
other than that 10 out of 10 from me.
"Great finish to an awesome series!!!"
I love Hadrian and Royce as characters and this has been a most enjoyable series; definitely one of those feel good fantasy tales that are so hard to come by these days.
"An absolutely brilliant trilogy - a must have"
I have only reviewed this last part of the trilogy as I think it can be judged as a whole or separately - either way they are superb stories interlaced within the main story -the performance is spot on and as a fan of fantasy books this ranks alongside Raymond E Feist', Brandon Sanderson and George RR Martin - download these books today you won't be disappointed ☺
The third instalation in the Riyria revelations, probably the best story's I have had the pleasure to listen to , narrated to perfection this is truly a epic scifi/fantasy adventure with some of the best carectors you will ever have the pleasure of getting to know truly awesome , next on my list will be the Riyria chronicles which I can't wait to start .
I can listen to this book over and over. excellent characters and a wonderful storyline
Really enjoyed the Riyria series. Excellent characters, well realised and a barnstorming, wide ranging and emotionally deep story.
Loved this series, performance was excellent. Fell in love with the characters and loved the twists and turns particularly in the final book.
"What a series!!!"
I have enjoyed every book in this series. I couldn't wait to get the next downloaded after finishing the previous one.
The characters are full and well rounded. Imagery is so powerful you can feel yourself slipping on ice or laughing at characters mishaps as it becomes like a video playing in you head.
Sullivan is amid my favourite authors for books that are hard to put down, And Tim Reynolds is a great narrator
"Best book in a fantastic series"
The book cleverly wove all the outstanding issues together. I loved the series. And am now looking for more books by this author.
