Best of the series
The first 2 books were sort of boring, but this made up for it. The deaths were a bit unceremonious and anticlimactic but the overall action and story was much better than the other books.

All the pieces come together in this final tale! All of Sullivan's clever story telling is revealed as he crafts the perfect ending for his epic tale. Emotions ride high, and ships sail as Royce and Hadrian journey once again.

Detailed and mesmerizing
Such a well told, riveting, multilayered story! It's the very best of thrilling fantasy, but is also relatable in its depth and vulnerability of pain, sorrow, and redemption. Sullivan is a keen observer and storyteller of the human experience. And Reynolds is a master of expertly nuanced narration.

Always a thrill!
I really enjoyed this series and can see listening in a different order as the author describes next time. Each book can stand alone and the reading length is wonderful ! All of the characters are well developed and interesting. Lots of sword fights and adventure, the tiniest bit of romance, the common man rises up, always a favorite theme.
