Publisher's summary

A rising star in the fantasy genre, Michael J. Sullivan has built an ardent following for his Riyria Revelations saga, which draws to its epic conclusion in Heir of Novron.

On the holiday of Wintertide, the New Empire plans to burn the Witch of Melengar and force the Empress into a marriage of their own design. But they didn’t account for Royce and Hadrian finally locating the Heir of Novron—or the pair’s desire to wreak havoc on the New Empire’s carefully crafted scheme.

Heir of Novron contains Wintertide and Percepliquis, books 5 and 6 of Riyria Revelations.

Great conclusion to a wonderful trilogy.

I've written two reviews explaining why I like this series so much and I'm glad to say its conclusion is as satisfying as it is epic. The two Muskateers are pushed to their limits, thankfully without losing their sense of humor and timing.

Tim Reynolds is awesome as the narrator. He gives every character the distinction they deserve, while catching all the humor and cleverness the story demands.

The author's wife fell so hard for Hadrian character she has inspired him to begin a long series of prequels. All I can say to that is, Cheers to you Mrs. Sullivan!

finally! an author who knows how to end a series..

What made the experience of listening to Heir of Novron the most enjoyable?

Well thought out, loved how the series ended and what became of the characters. Look forward to more by this author and narrator.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nimbus and I can't say because it will give away the ending.

Have you listened to any of Tim Gerard Reynolds’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both, I laughed at Royce and Hadrian's antics and cried when characters died.

Any additional comments?

Keep them coming!

Sad to see it end.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. This is just a great story. It was written well, funny at times with a feel good ending.

What other book might you compare Heir of Novron to and why?

I am not one to compare books. Each one seems very unique to me. Even if its the whole swords wizards and princess plot.

What does Tim Gerard Reynolds bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Tim Reynolds has a very unique way of doing female voices. I do not think I could have done them better in my head. I mention the female voices because, I read about other reviewers complaining about other narrators and there version of female voices. So I am giving Tim his due. Over all I will be looking out for other books that Tim Narrates.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I guess I was sad to see that the Trilogy ended. When you have a good book you really never want it to end. I do have to say the ended was fantastic. (all bases covered)

Good Ear Candy

This is the second go-round for me on this book; the first time was in print (and I loved it then, too). The beautiful thing about a well-done audiobook is how it brings out things from the text that came across differently when you read it. That's what makes this item so worth the purchase.

Tim Gerard Reynolds is an excellent reader, doing a solid job of altering his character voices (but keeping those internally consistent) and injecting the story with a sense of excitement over and above what was on the page.

But what comes across best is just a fun, exciting, lovable story. Sullivan is a quality storyteller, and some of the most intense moments in the Riyria Revelations come in this book. I don't know what I was doing instead of paying attention to the scenes of Princess Arista in the dungeon when I was reading it, but listening to them was amazing. I stopped everything else I was doing and just payed close attention, my guts roiling in horror at her predicament.

And that is the combination of good writing and good reading that makes this audiobook a huge favorite.

Just Read It! You Won't Be Disappointed!

Where does Heir of Novron rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It has to be in my top 10 for sure, and I have over 150 audiobooks in my library.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Heir of Novron?

I can't say without giving away too much of the story. The end of the story just left me smiling, and not many books get that much of a reaction from me.

Which scene was your favorite?

Any time Hadrian pulls out the spadone...you just know someone is going to get owned. Especially the last time when he has the flashback moment to what his father taught him. Gave me goosebumps!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed plenty of times. What I didn't expect is that I would develop such strong connections to the characters, so that when someone died I kept waiting for the moment when they would pull through at the last minute, because I didn't WANT them to die. But characters in this series aren't killed just the sake of killing them, like in other popular books *cough!*GameOfThrones*cough!*

Any additional comments?

Can we say HBO series or movie? There's easily enough content here to support 6 seasons of an HBO series.
