Anna’s shape-shifting friend Culebra finally opens up to her about his life before he owned Beso de la Muerte, a bar catering to supernatural clientele. As if summoned by the conversation, Culebra’s past stumbles into his bar in the form of an old buddy cashing in a favor.
Soon Anna, Culebra and her ex, DEA agent Max, find themselves deep in Mexico, dealing with drug cartel infighting, old vendettas and missing girls. Mexico just may prove to be Anna’s best match yet…

Love fantasy books, usually with a strong female character. I also enjoyed just about anything from J.D Robb I am a fan of mysteries as well. I also enjoy funny and quirky novels anything from Molly Harper is a winner in my book. Since listening to audio books is important to me while I travel I also follow certain narrators as well.
This book started out rough, Anna attitude is tough to handle at times, but about an hour into it, the book got a lot better. The story took off and I was hooked, it was just a rough start. Honestly though I am not sure how many more books they can continue to write in this series without really ruining the entire storyline.
I was wondering where this series was going to go next. This book is a good transition story for the series as a whole. Quite Enjoyable.
I would be willing to recommend this book to anyone who reads fiction. I had no interest in the vampire genre at all until I read a book by Jeanne C. Stein. She is the one who got me interested in the genre and her books are still the best.
Dina Pearlman has read all the books in this series and it is clear that she is getting a better grip on the characters in each new book. This is her best yet.
This series may not have many installments to go and that is a real shame.
New to the audiobook thing, but I like it! I'm a huge Stephen King fan... Along with the spy/military type books by Brad Thor, Vince Flynn
Yes, I have the entire series and had to listen to them all right before this one came out. When I find a series I enjoy I will listen to it often, and this is one of them.
Ana continues to grow into her powers and into the person she will become. I truly have enjoyed all the different paths her life has taken through out each story, and am looking forward to the next story.
It was Ok, the story was very slow.
All of them
Yes, make her a VAMPIRE and not this stumbling, inept, embarrassing one.
I have enjoyed this series, however, I see that it's winding to a close and I can't say I'm sorry to hear that. The earlier stories held my interest much more than the last couple. I found Haunted a little frustrating because of the frequent use of Spanish phrases without adequate translation. I don't speak Spanish, I'm reading (or listening to) the book in ENGLISH. I realize the story is set in Mexico and the author could have added a few Spanish phrases with a translation written in and it wouldn't have bothered me. It just seemed to me that she assumes everyone understands Spanish and we don't. I'm sure I will read the last book to finish off the series, but I can't really say I'm anxiously awaiting it.
I speak Spanish as my first language and I was very surprise with the poor effort they had put in the translation and pronunciation.
most of the story happens in Mexico!!!
