Publisher's summary

Hank is a thug. He knows he's a thug. He has no problem with that realization. In his view the galaxy has given him a gift: a mutation that allows him to withstand great deals of physical trauma. He puts his abilities to the best use possible and that isn't by being a scientist.

Besides, the space station Belvaille doesn't need scientists. It is not, generally, a thinking person's locale. It is the remotest habitation in the entire Colmarian Confederation. There is literally no reason to be there.

Unless you are a criminal.

Because of its location, Belvaille is populated with nothing but crooks. Every day is a series of power struggles between the crime bosses.

Hank is an intrinsic part of this community as a premier gang negotiator. Not because he is eloquent or brilliant or an expert combatant, but because if you shoot him in the face he keeps on talking.

Hank believes he has it pretty good until a beautiful and mysterious blue woman enters his life with a compelling job offer.

Hank and Belvaille, so long out of public scrutiny, suddenly find themselves the epicenter of the galaxy with a lot of very unwelcome attention.

Good, not great.

What did you love best about Hard Luck Hank: Screw the Galaxy?

The character of Hank was funny and certain situations were humorous.

If you’ve listened to books by Steven Campbell before, how does this one compare?

I haven't

Have you listened to any of Liam Owen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I paced it out over a couple weeks.

Any additional comments?

The problems with the book were simple. There was very little structure. It jumped from one story to another without much foreshadowing or pace. It was a little scattershot, in my opinion. It felt like it was a bunch of short stories that were pasted together into one book.

That said, the story was humorous and there were many memorable moments.

Great sci-fi comedy

This is my second audio book I've tried and it was great. I found myself laughing at certain parts due to both the writing and the great narration. This guy's voice fit the role perfectly. Story was great, composed of a bunch of events revolving around Hank. The ending was a bit melodramatic. Felt like it was rushed. I actually had to check and see if it really was the last chapter. All in all, great listen.

Hank is the man

I loved every moment of this book. I cannot wait to listen to the rest of the books in this series. I was genuinely upset when I finished because I didn't want the story to end. I especially loved the narration.

Lotta fun

Well, it’s not Shakespeare. But it’s fun, engaging, pretty well thought out, and well narrated. Overall a good listen.

Eat Suck, Suck Face

I really enjoyed this story. Plenty of action, aliens and the right anount of hunor.

The narration was also very well done. Giving charaters different sounding voices and accents.

Fun Read

It took a little to get into it but Hank and the citizens of Bellville Station had me laughing out loud at points. I look forward to more of Steven Campbell's Hard Luck Hank series.

Hank is Awesome

I love this book. Hank has to be my favorite fictional characters of all time. The performance of the narrator is truly superb. I recommend this book to about everyone I talk to about novels. Definitely worth checking out.

Simple uncomplicated specieist chauvinistic fun.

If Ted Bundy was born 2000 years later, was a mutant and didn't get married, or have children he could've been Hank.
