BOOK 3 IN THE IRON DRUID CHRONICLES

Thor, the Norse god of thunder, is worse than a blowhard and a bully - he’s ruined countless lives and killed scores of innocents. After centuries, Viking vampire Leif Helgarson is ready to get his vengeance, and he’s asked his friend Atticus O’Sullivan, the last of the Druids, to help take down this Norse nightmare.

One survival strategy has worked for Atticus for more than two thousand years: stay away from the guy with the lightning bolts. But things are heating up in Atticus’s home base of Tempe, Arizona. There’s a vampire turf war brewing, and Russian demon hunters who call themselves the Hammers of God are running rampant. Despite multiple warnings and portents of dire consequences, Atticus and Leif journey to the Norse plain of Asgard, where they team up with a werewolf, a sorcerer, and an army of frost giants for an epic showdown against vicious Valkyries, angry gods, and the hammer-wielding Thunder Thug himself.

“Kevin Hearne breathes new life into old myths, creating a world both eerily familiar and startlingly original.”(Nicole Peeler, author of Tempest Rising)

Just great. Also better than Marvel.

There isnt a dull moment in this and you could just keep listening to it. Good news is there is plenty of books in this series. Interested to see where all of those lead into. Thor fans might not like tho!

Daniel's doesn't just read, he performs.

Great range of voices and accents. Add that to the amazing Hearne story and this is a win.

These stories just keep getting better...

I'm so glad I stumbled across this author and his Iron Druid Chronicles. Great narrative style, even though a few grammatical errors or incorrect words are used. The humor is near perfect and so wonderfully well timed as if these were done by Warner Bros. In their era of Bugs Bunny to Road & Coyote. I look forward to starting the next book in the series ASAP.

Iron Druid VS Thor what must the Avengers think

This is another humor and action packed installment of the Iron Druid. Kevin Hearne and Luke Daniels keep the Iron Druid fresh as this story unfolds. Giving background on some of our favorite characters and more of how our Druid sees the world. Who lives and who dies? Let the tale be told for I shall not spoil it for you.

Getting better

I was originally inspired to pursue this trilogy after reading Hearne's latest; "A Plague of Giants." APoG was quite compelling and extremely well written with multiple perspectives and lots of character depth. If you haven't read/listened to it yet do yourself a favor and get ye to it.
I was sorely disappointed by the first book in The Iron Druid series. I decided to continue through "Tricked" at least since it was a NYT best seller. My idea being that I might watch the evolution of a great writer, I have dug in my heels and proceeded.
"Hammered" has demonstrates a rise in Hearne's talents, but is still not quite there yet. It isn't necessarily the fodder for fantasy nerds who somehow pretend to also be harbingers of everything hip and trendy to middle-class tweens that the first book was. But it hasn't quite shaken some of those tendencies either.
I hope that the next book continues the upward trend and inspires me to step further into the world.
