Welcome to humanity’s new war: silent, high stakes, and unseen. This is a life-or-death mission for ONI’s black-ops team, Kilo-Five, which is tasked with preventing the ruthless Elites, once the military leaders of the Covenant, from regrouping and threatening humankind again.

What began as a routine dirty-tricks operation - keeping the Elites busy with their own insurrection - turns into a desperate bid to extract one member of Kilo-Five from the seething heart of an alien civil war. But troubles never come singly for Kilo-Five. Colonial terrorism is once again surfacing on one of the worlds that survived the war against the Covenant, and the man behind it is much more than just a name to Spartan-010.

Meanwhile, the treasure trove of Forerunner technology recovered from the shield world of Onyx is being put to work while a kidnapped Elite plots vengeance on the humans he fears will bring his people to the brink of destruction.

    "Sith Lady"
Would you listen to Halo: The Thursday War again? Why?

Yes I would. I will do it to pick up all the little story threads that lead off into possible future story archs and those that fill in gaps about the back stories of several characters.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Admiral Perengowski in particular piqued my interest. She is as bad as any Sith Lord that ever graced the pages of Karen's other novels. Karen dealt with the Elites nobility as well as anyone. They are truly noble within their culture and in battle.

Which character – as performed by Euan Morton – was your favorite?

    Admiral Perengowski, easily!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, I get upset by the constant use of "chinconi"! Next time how about a coversation with a GI before you record! It's CinC ONI (SINK ONI)! It is Commander in Chief, and is not an Italian word. I grate my teeth everytime he uses it. After 20 years of service, I find that I'm not so flexible on the lexicon.

    Any additional comments?

Quietly awaiting the next installment in the series. I could use a timelime to help bring things together for me.

    "Great book, and GREAT narrator"

I've been meaning to read Thursday War, Mortal Dictata, and Silentium for quite awhile. I decided to try audiobooks, and I don't regret it. Euan Morton does a great job narrating, his accents are authentic and believability, and he makes it easy to distinguish between characters, even when there's a long string of dialogue without any words to differentiate who's soaking (eg. 'said Naomi,' 'BB replied,' etc).

    "KINDOR THE DESTROYER OF BOOKS"

The direct sequel to Halo: Glasslands, and the backround to the events in Halo 4.

Over all the story was a great story ties a lot of things together between the books and the game. Chances are you are not looking into this book unless you have read Glasslands. And chances are that if you are looking at this book on Audible, you have listened to the audio book version of Glasslands.

The narration in Thursday War is far superior to the performance in Glasslands. Honestly, they almost seem like completely different narrators.

"A great addition to the series."

Thursday War is a great follow up to Glasslands. Bringing some more interesting looks into the Sangheli homeworld and learning interesting facts about the power of the UNSC's new flagship. Knowing facts about the universe based on the games it starts tying together the events of Halo 3 and 4 with characters starting to learn abot the possibility of a still living forrunner and the threat to earth might be increasing whe a lost Covenant cruiser may have reappeared.

"An excellent book narrated with style."

Eagerly anticipated this release after thoroughly enjoying Glasslands. This sequel equals the standard of the first book. I hoped they would use the same narrator and they didn't disappoint. I wanted the same narrator as he really adds life to the characters, my favourite being the playful glee of Margaret Parangovsky.

The book itself is excellent with a strong storyline as well as lots of info of the Halo universe, being particularly helpful filling in the gaps between Halo 3 and Halo 4. I can't wait for the last book of the trilogy. Although it will make sense to people that aren't hardcore halo fans I suggest you listen to or read Glasslands first.
