WOW

This is a great book. I overlooked it many times because I didn't like the cover and was tired of witches and faire's. I was so wrong. Kalayna Price does a great job keeping the mystery a focus instead of romantic entanglements. I bought the second book before I was half way through the first.

I never read fantasy. This hooked me.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Its just fun and the author did a great job of describing the fantasy world.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Grave Witch?

Too many! The description of Alex in the Etheric was delightful.

What about Emily Durante’s performance did you like?

I found she performed all the characters with sufficient differentiation to identify. Even performs male characters well.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

There's another world out there!

I was looking for something other than mysteries and thrillers. I never read or watch vampire or witch stories. The first fantasy book I bought was poor in character and background. This one hooked me from the beginning.

Hesitant at first, glad I stuck it out

What made the experience of listening to Grave Witch the most enjoyable?

I really liked the story. I would listen to it on my way to and from work and would find myself wishing my commute was longer.

What did you like best about this story?

The story was fun and engaging enough even between action scenes.

The first time I tried to listen to it, I gave up after the first 30 minutes. I found the story to be slow and I couldn't get over the reader's voice. After giving it a second try, and getting used to the reader, I found the story to be engaging and am glad I gave it a second chance. I am also glad there is a sequel.

Suprisingly Good

I honestly wasn't sure about this story when I read the synopsis, it seemed kind of questionable. And even the first hour or two I figured I would listen to it and move on it wasn't bad, it wasn't good. And then I got hooked, what started off as kind of ify, became enthralling such that if I was doing other things and I missed something I was rewinding it to hear what I missed. The story and the use of the magic / different types of magic, blended with the Fae world into a cohesive whole was unique and well done. They detective storyline that led through out the books was well done and suspenseful. The romantic triangle that pops up in the story adds a bit for the romantic type and also tosses in some amusing scenes as well. I ended up enjoying it so much that I actually stared at my phone that it was over and immediately started book 2.

Great story line, Narrator was robotic

I have read the book and now listened to it. The narrator was really robotic, She got fairly decent by the end of the book, it just made it a bit difficult to enjoy the book with her talking that way. It is worth looking to see if she is the narrator for the entire series as that will be my decision to finish with audible or read them my self.

Great start

This book reminded me of Dresden series for the main plot(mystery) and Wizard of the Glove for the relationship between the main character and Death.

Usually the mystery plots in this kind of UF's tend to be wishy-washy and weak,but this book kept me guessing the most of the time and made the reading fast and enjoyable. Although the author gives a satisfying ending for this book, there are more threads to be explore in this world. I am looking forward to reading more!

Grave Witch Part 1

I just LOVE this book! It is one you can't put down once you start it. Did a search on audible and did not find Part 2, so I guess that is yet to come. Can't wait.

The story line is well written. Reader does a great job.

Fascinating story!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The story really is fascinating. I put off reading this book despite recommendations because it looked and sounded a little cheesy. When I finally started reading it, I was completely sucked into the story. I liked it so much, I even bought the audiobook when it was on sale. I didn't like the performance of any of the male voices but I had no issues with the main character's voice so it wasn't too bad.

The Audible application SUCKS. It dies very often towards the end of the story. It is like Amazon is more concerned with delivering ads than content. I just want an off line player THAT WORKS!!!!!

Started out good

I began reading this book and really liked it. It was engaging and entertaining. It was also written well enough to keep me interested. However I ran out of time to finish it and switched to a recorded audible copy. After that I lost interest and the main character Alex began to really get on my nerves. Additionally I really didn't like the number of times she was called stupid. That maybe just me, but it seemed like a lot. Later I realized it was the way the reader was interpreting the story that made a huge difference. Her performance put me off purchasing the next book, whereas if I had just read it I might have.
