Star Wars: Heir to the Empire: Behind the Scenes is a special recording that features new commentary by author Timothy Zahn and editor Betsy Mitchell, written for the 20th anniversary edition of Heir to the Empire, read by Zahn and Mitchell. Included here is audio from the that new unabridged recording to enhance their comments.
The biggest event in the history of Star Wars books, Heir to the Empire follows the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia after they led the Rebel Alliance to victory in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.

I found Timothy Zahn's Behind-the-Scenes section to be interesting. The voice acting of the audiobook excerpt sounded good as well, but the constant interruptions by the otherwise interesting annotations made me grateful for this excerpt - because it's not a book I would want to purchase in audio. The print version is going in to my Wishlist. The audio is not.
Mr. Middle Earth
There is no print version (that I know of). I found it fascinating and could have easily listened to it for hours more. It's only 20 minutes long, at least an hour of content would have been great.
It's great to hear the forward and the behind the scenes notes by Tim Zahn himself!
This provided much delightful insight into the ideas and mindset of the author while he was writing Heir to the Empire. I first read HTTE about 20 years ago when it first was published and to gain more incite into the story has been very enjoyable for a die hard fan.
Compared to other books by Timothy Zahn, this book is one of the best. After Alan Dean Foster's Splinters of the Minds Eye, this was the first book in the expanded Universe, Now considered part of the STAR WARS LEGENDS line. This is where it all started and I am sure that there are other enthusiast out there that were delighted for this peek behind the scenes, just as I was.
Entertaining narrative detailing how Zahn began the series. Especially entertaining as I read the trilogy back in the 1990s - fun to hear how it all started. Now I'm ready to listen to the series on Audible.
An avid reader who works too much to actually read in the traditional manner she now consumes audiobooks at her job, driving, and running.
I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars. If this wasn't a free sample I would never have had listened to it. Although it's not my usual material, I did enjoy the commentary by the author that explained his thinking process and the background story to the creation of the novel. I actually enjoyed the commentary more than the actual Star Wars story.
I had always wondered what it must have felt like to be tasked with single-handedly resurrecting and continuing Star Wars. It's pretty much what you'd think. Crazy to think of the raging fire that continues to burn strong today all thanks to this man's spark so many years ago.
I am a fan of the special features on DVD/Blueray movies... this was very much like that, in audiobook form.
