Publisher's summary

From bestselling author, Rose Pressey, comes Forever Charmed, the first book in an all new series!

Halloween LaVeau is descended from a long line of witches. Yes, her name is Halloween. The cosmic universe is definitely playing some kind of sick joke on her. She's the ultimate witch cliche, complete with a black cat and spooky house. Thank heavens she's missing the warts and flying broom.

When Halloween inherits her great aunt's manor, she decides to put the house to good use as a bed and breakfast. Her first guest is the sinfully good-looking Nicolas Marcos, but he's not here for the continental breakfast. Halloween discovers a ratty old book in the attic. It's written in an unfamiliar language.

Halloween soon learns this is not an ordinary spellbook. The tome brings her a new talent, but her new skills come with a catch. When a rival witch comes after the book, Halloween doesn't know who to trust - the sexy vampire who says he wants to save the day, or the warlock who says he can destroy the book once and for all.

good story, but the narrator, not so much

I enjoyed the story, but almost quit listening several times because the narrator's over pronunciation was very annoying.

Flat narration

Is there anything you would change about this book?

While I do enjoy a Rose Pressey book, the narration of this one was all one tone...all the female voices were the same making the book very confusing since you couldn't tell who was talking when. Very hard to listen too. I will be getting the ebook so that I can finish the story. Soo disappointing

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I couldn't tell who was talking when, all one tone. I had to stop the audio book it was so frustrating I couldn't finish the book. Horrible. I will make sure to note the narrator so that I do not get another dull read.

Horrible narration, cute story

An audio book should not sound like it's being read to a 1st grader. The strict pronounciation and slowwww narration over shadowed any emotion. She ruined the story for me.

It's too bad because the story was cute and I liked the characters. As much as I enjoyed the book, I don't know if I can stomach another reading by this narrator.

Sorry, I wish I could have been more positive. I was looking forward to a light, witty series.

It was fun

I had a good time reading this book! A bumbling pretty witch tries to deal with her paranormal problems while opening her own bed and breakfast.

Narrator was irritating.

I liked the story, but the narrator was irritating. She might be ok with other books, but she kept exaggerating the pronunciation in this one. It got old quickly.

fluff

its okay had it not been free I probably would not have picked it up tbh. its too cliche for me the supernatural romance crap. witches, werewolves, demons, vampires ghosts goblin zombies and other thing that go bump in the night falling in love w/ non super natural beings or halflings is just so over done at this point in pop culture that its really meh. not interesting and not as entertaining as it was 15 years ago when that was damn near unheard of except in obscure gothics or obscure authors

A cute read for Halloween

Wanted something spirited to read during the Halloween season and this was just the thing. Will give the rest of the series a try!

OK

Although it could use a better narrator, it was pleasant enough for a drive to the city and back. OK
