Publisher's summary

Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden is Chicago's only openly practicing wizard. He is also dead broke. His vast knowledge and magical skills are unfortunately matched by his talent for making powerful enemies and alienating friends. With little more than his integrity left, he accepts an offer of work from Lt. Karin Murphy of Chicago's Special Investigations Unit. He wants to redeem himself in Murphy's eyes and make enough money to quiet his rumbling stomach.

Soon he finds himself pinned between trigger-happy FBI agents, shape-shifiting motorcycle gang members, a threatened mobster boss, and an heir to an ancient curse along with his primal fiance. Throw in environmental activists and a pair of young werewolves in love and you have something of Fool Moon.

Endless Suspense

I am a huge fan of this series! I have read many of the paperbacks in my youth. Now in my busy adult life I look forward to returning to this world of magic and mystery! A must read for fiction fans! Noir fans will the the mystery!

another great dresden story

I love these Jim Butcher novels. They are made all the better on Audible. James Marsters just seems to be the voice Harry Dresden. it all made this novel excellent.

Harry Dresden and Werewolves

I f you liked the first book of this series, you'll like this one. Harry meets up and battles with/against werewolves in this installment. You even get to learn that there are different kinds, lol! Easy read, good story once again.

Simple
But human writing. Would

Just really good soup

Stellar characterisation, intriguing mystery of a plot, great pacing, excellent prose, the whole thing dripping with a fantasy noir atmosphere... this is extremely good even 22 years later. Makes me feel old that I want to write "they don't make them like this anymore", but hell, it's true.

Howling entertainment

With all the undead books out there it was surprising to find a werewolf story that is actually original. Lots of suspense and lots of laughs mixed together - very enjoyable detective story fun. Some adult content, tastefully written, but not for pre-teens.

Who knew there were so many kinds of werwolves?

This is the second book in the series and it is good. It is a bit better than the first as the author contiinues to grow in ability. It is fast-paced, fun and has plenty of action and humor. The constant interference by Murphy gets a bit tedious in this one but ther than that a great read. Once again the 3 stars is in order to show how the authors writing improves through the series. These are 3 Butcher stars which is 4-5 for most other authors. Narraration is top notch as usual.
