Publisher's summary

Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden is Chicago's only openly practicing wizard. He is also dead broke. His vast knowledge and magical skills are unfortunately matched by his talent for making powerful enemies and alienating friends. With little more than his integrity left, he accepts an offer of work from Lt. Karin Murphy of Chicago's Special Investigations Unit. He wants to redeem himself in Murphy's eyes and make enough money to quiet his rumbling stomach.

Soon he finds himself pinned between trigger-happy FBI agents, shape-shifiting motorcycle gang members, a threatened mobster boss, and an heir to an ancient curse along with his primal fiance. Throw in environmental activists and a pair of young werewolves in love and you have something of Fool Moon.

The narration is much better than the first book. The story full of twists and turns. Gets you hooked

Entertaining and action-packed!

If you could sum up Fool Moon in three words, what would they be?

Engrossing story, loved-it

Who was your favorite character and why?

Dresden has got a lot of hard edges but very likable and you do find yourself rooting for him.

What does James Marsters bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He definitely gives all the characters their own voice. I'm amazed at how he can pull of male and female voices and you don't even really notice it's the same narrator.

Any additional comments?

I'm late to pick up on this series but it's definitely worth checking out. I'm loving the story line.

Another enjoyable part of the series

I have enjoyed these books. I like the narration and the snarky wit of the main characters. This is not a life changing series by any means, but it is a fun and easy time filler.

Good writing - Great reading

What did you love best about Fool Moon?

I'm a sucker for first person, hard boiled, sarcastic, Private Investigator stories.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Dresden, especially as he noted the things he did wrong in the last novel. (This is book 2.)

What about James Marsters’s performance did you like?

Marsters was able to voice other characters without sounding like Dresden doing a falsetto.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

There is more than one type of werewolf.

Any additional comments?

Not to denigrate the writing. It is hard to stay internally consistent when adding to laws of physics. The writing was very good, but the reading... Wow.
I'd say the writing is an A- and the reading is an A+.

Very good modern urban fantasy detective Noir

Picks up a few months or a year after the previous book. References are mention and previous characters are shown but this is a stand alone Harry Dresden story. Modern and interesting take on the werewolf mythos but this is NOT a book for children. People will die and other dark things will happen.
Everything that could go wrong does, there is no Deus Ex here. and Harry Dresden is put through The writing style is so detailed and descriptive it felt like I was feeling the pain along with him.
Characters feel very real and in depth. Like the previous book it continues to hint at the bigger world while taking it's time not revealing too much. I expect some of these threads will take a few books to resolve. Harry has to make some tough choices and there are consequences.
The main complaint I would have is that I can't tell how much of the references were from the first book or just used to make the world seem bigger. Maybe that is a good thing.
If you like Noir, modern Urban fantasy and not scared of a long series I'd recommend this book. Also if you like to see someone describe their experience with pain.

As always, great story from an incredible author!

Reader is good, keeping your attention with a good performance. Still a little too moist sounding though.
