Publisher's summary

Picking up where The First Days ends, Fighting to Survive features the further zombie-killing, civilization-saving adventures of a pair of sexy, kick-butt heroines and the men who love them.

A hundred or so survivors of the zombie plague have found tenuous safety in the walled-off center of a small Texas town. Now the hard work of survival begins - finding enough food; creating safe, weather-resistant shelter; establishing laws; and fighting off both the undead who want to eat them and the living bandits who want to rob and kill them.

Fighting to Survive won the Dead Letter Award for Best Novel from Mail Order Zombie. The first book in the As the World Dies trilogy, The First Days also won the Dead Letter Award and was named one of the Best Zombie Books of the Decade by the Harrisburg Book Examiner.

Also listen to the first book, The First Days.

Amazing book

Great book as this is book 2. Great story and the characters will have you biting your nails as the main characters Katie and Jenny survive through zombies and crazy hicks.

A great follow up to book 1

Although I like to book one, it wasn’t one of my favorite books. Book to definitely took it to the next level. Frater tends to enjoy discussing the emotions and the feelings behind each decision. This was very appreciated and book 2 is moral decisions were made

A fun story to listen to!

I downloaded this right after finishing the first book. I looked forward to picking up where I left off and I will finish the series when the last book comes out.

Good sequel to the first book

If you could sum up Fighting to Survive in three words, what would they be?

Good second book

What other book might you compare Fighting to Survive to and why?

Hard to say. I havent read any other books (other than the first of this series) that have female heroines that kick *ss.

Which character – as performed by Cassandra Campbell – was your favorite?

I liked them all but related more to the prosecutor, she was calm, level headed, reasonable, kept it together.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I listened on my commute.

Any additional comments?

Good entertainment.

A little better then the first

This book would have been better if there wasn't so much focus on sexuality. Some of the character's are also way over the top. It wasn't a bad listen, but there is better books out there. I do like some of the humor in this book.

wonderful book

Between a well written story and a great performance by the narrator, this one is a hit in my opinion. I highly recommend this book.

Had Me On Edge

Wonderful writing. Better than Book 1, awesome follow-up. I was so on edge and had to stop listening several times in anticipation of what was going to happen to the character.

ugh....

What would have made Fighting to Survive better?

This was a total waste, too many weepy crying women one minute then tough rambo women the next minute.

Has Fighting to Survive turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, just against women narrators in this genre.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

This narrator should stick to love stories that have no male parts....she can't do men.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

disgust

Any additional comments?

Really disappointed. The opening line was great and I thought it was going to be a good story, but that's as far as the "greatness" went. From there on it felt more and more like a teen type story with bad language.
