Publisher's summary

Karen Marie Moning's "Fever" series is a coast-to-coast hit! The first two titles in this national best-selling series, Darkfever and Bloodfever, appeared on the New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly best-seller lists.

In Faefever, Karen Marie Moning returns to the shadowy Dublin Otherworld in an undeniably sexy novel her fans are feverish for.

Changed by the choices she made in order to survive, Mac no longer is the naïve, idealistic, and glamorous girl newly arrived in Dublin. Now, on a quest to find her sister's killer, she is a major player in a deadly game, but with one great advantage: she knows how to find the one thing Fae and human alike are willing to kill for - the Sinsar Dubh, an ancient book of magic so dark it corrupts anyone who touches it.

What Mac soon discovers, however, is worse than she had imagined. Surrounded by treachery, her enemies indistinguishable from her allies, she can be certain of only one thing - as All Hallows' Eve approaches, her time is running out.

Skip this book of the series!

I've now read or listened to all three books in this series as well as all of the Author's other books. I still think this series has potential, but this particular book does very little to move the story forward. If it were made into a movie, it could be done very nicely in five scenes or fewer. Way too much unnecessary stuff in here. Don't bother. If you like this Author, read the Immortal Highlander (my favorite!) or one of the other highlander series books, also available on Audible. Also, the narrator (who I usually like) uses an annoyingly phony sounding southern accent.

not Highlander

I loved the Highland books, very spicy, and each book had an conclusion. I am enjoying these books but the endings leave me empty because there is none! You have to go to the next book and the next, so on. I prefer a good ending so I don't feel left hanging. Also there is so much erotic tension between the characters at least in the Highlander they would consummate their relationship in each book. I'm at the end of the third book and still allot of tension and no consummation. The books are getting very frustrating and I don't know if the next book has even been published. I'm not sure if I'll read any more of the Fever books it seams that it will go on and on with more frustration.

Cliffhanger

Whoever sold Ms. Moning on the episode format for her "Fever" books did a disservice to her usual good writing. This is part of a book, not a whole book. Be prepared for too many rehashing reminders of plot threads from previous books, and a very irritating cliffhanger that dumps the reader in the middle of the climax. This format is better left for television, wherein an audience does not have to wait months to find out what happened.

Rather read then listen

There are some books which are just not very good when they are in audiobook form. This is one of them. I really enjoyed the book when I read it, but I began by listening, and it was just wrong. I don't know why. I love my audiobooks, but not for this author or perhaps it is the narrator that makes a book fail as an book to listen to.
Still, it is a good book, but one which, I feel, needs to be read.

Faefever

Ugh...the ending. LOL Left me hanging, it did. Now I can't wait for DREAMFEVER. It took a few tries to get into this series after the Highlander books. But once I did, I was hooked!!!!! Wonderful series. You really have to listen to them. No skipping, or blowing over. You'll never know when you'll miss a really important point. :-)

Wow!

Thats all I can say about this 3rd installment in the Fever books. I love this series. A little romance but mainly suspense and intrigue. Many more questions were answered in this book but not enough and I suppose my only complaint would be the major cliff hanger at the end. Now I will have to wait for the fourth book to be published hopefully sometime in 2009 to find out what happens to Mac (and others). It will be a long wait!

A bit of a disappointment...

As far as sequels go, I feel this book let me down. Only two or three new details were revealed, and after waiting almost a year for this installment, that was hardly enough. And then to end the story the way it did was terrible! I don't want to give away any spoilers to those who are fans of the series, but I didn't think this book was nearly as good as the first two. I'll be interested to see how others review it.

What other book might you compare Faefever to and why?

any of the other say book series but if you want me to take a book outside of the room I don't really think it qualifies cuz its such a unique story line and I don't know of any other book that has this particular Story

Which scene was your favorite?

probably when parents was drilling Mac about why the Vlane s tongue was down her throat he was a little jealous I think

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

juicy girl I bet you are Lol

Any additional comments?

it's addictive just warning you

Good story, terrible narration

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend the written book over the audio for this installment of the series. The book is essential to understanding the next in the series.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the series, so I liked the book. Some answers to questions from previous books, but more questions arise and are left unanswered.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Joyce Bean?

Natalie Ross. Joyce Bean makes it unbearable. I listened to about half of the book and then switched to reading the rest myself. She narrates Mac like a much older woman, and all her male characters have the same croaky sound. Just a very poor choice for this book.

Was Faefever worth the listening time?

It isn't worth listening to if you can read it in print instead. I didn't finish listening to it, I finished the book in print. It is worth reading if you like the series, but not worth listening to.

Any additional comments?

I hope they don't use this narrator for future installments.

Boring!

I had a very hard time with this one. The 'southern belle' accent of the main character drove me nuts, and the story just never GOES anywhere. I had to stop listening after he first half, and never finished it.
