In 2061 a young scientist invents a time machine to fix a tragedy in his past. But his good intentions turn catastrophic when an early test reveals something unexpected: the end of the world.
A desperate plan is formed: recruit three heroes, ordinary humans capable of extraordinary things, and change the future.
Safa Patel is an elite police officer, on duty when Downing Street comes under terrorist attack. As armed men storm through the breach, she dispatches them all.
'Mad' Harry Madden is a legend of the Second World War. Not only did he complete an impossible mission - to plant charges on a heavily defended submarine base - but he also escaped with his life.
Ben Ryder is just an insurance investigator. But as a young man, he witnessed a gang assaulting a woman and her child. He went to their rescue and killed all five.
Can these three heroes, extracted from their timelines at the point of death, save the world?

This is a great story with amazing characters. Yes it is descriptive (gory, a bit vulgar etc). But it is done in a way that seems natural for the characters not forced or contrived. I can't wait till the 2nd book comes out. This book is just brilliant!
It was a rough start but it all comes together in the end. We are talking about time travel and it was a bit all over the place but the author tied all together in the end with a nice red bow. can't wait for the next book.
good start but becomes bogged down with ben feeling has he tries to come to terms with his situation, this part took far to long in the story.
This book was excellent and riveting from start to finish. The introduction into the 3 main characters was 3 great stories in themselves. The characters work well together and the plot is well structured with lots of suspense.
I can't wait for book 2 to come out and hope the audiobook is released in 6th June which is when the paperback of book 2 "Executed" is released.
"R R Haywood keep them coming"
fans of undead will love this. good story interesting characters finished of with a first class narrator. enough said
narration was fantastic.
storyline started so strongly.
it all went downhill rapidly. such a pity.
"Had to listen"
Couldn't put this one down. So well read and easy to listen to. Plot plausible for sci fi and lots of action. The personal tales of the characters were carefully plotted and believable. A definite 5star product.
Wasn't sure in the first few minutes but soon after I couldn't turn it off.
Love the characters and their interactions.
looking forward to part two!
Brain chewing gum of the best quality... can't wait for more..
Great start to a series that I am hoping keeps giving
Well done all round
"Starts great loses it in the middle"
This had a great beginning and so much promise, the middle with bens constant whining that take up far too many chapters and is basically the whole story for this first book means the book doesn't actually have a story.
The narrator is good but again on occasion the "he said, she said, he said, he said, she said" parts really do annoy and in parts is like listening to an inbetweeners episodes with the constant swearing.
If the second can live up to the first part of this it will be great.
"Great story and narration thoroughly hooked"
warm, engaging imaginative
Ben Rider - brilliant evryman
Warmth, pace excellent delivery I will look out for this narrator again
Both in equal measure
I have written very few reviews (just lazy I guess) but I enjoyed this so much in a genre I wouldn't naturally reach for - first class, more please!
Time travel is a hard subject to write so firstly i have to say the author did it better than i could have imagined. The characters are flawless the setup is sheer brilliance and my god the story is amazing. Its not just sci fi its a work of art. Even if your not into this kind of stuff id say you could really delve deep into this world of time travel and violence. The book has feeling, humour, dark humour, brilliant wit and more. No wonder it was a bestseller on release but don't take my word for it give it a go id say 10 out of 10 must listen
