Intense read!

Would make a nail biting movie. Full of suspense and scary moments. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the second book.

good story but it took a little time to get into

Good story with an unusual hero. The main character has some quirks that at first seen odd but later give her depth. Afraid to drive but still resilient. The heroine has hidden strengths and she grows on you. . I am looking forward to the next book.

Not Great but good for the Price

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The concept is great (and at least from books I've read, it's unique). I'm looking forward to seeing where it leads. But other reviews are accurate. The characters logic is flawed. Any adult is capable of driving a car. No one carries all their survival gear on a bike for a trip from New York to Alaska. This bag appears to be packed by Michael Carbonaro (magician). The author gets too detailed about meaningless things. I too hate over use of the word "panties". At this point it is stretching my ability to suspend disbelief. I'm having a very hard time seeing this bike with all the gear on it. For gods sake, put the bike in a car, if you get stuck ditch the car and take the bike to the next available car. But the ideas are good enough to keep me interested and the occasional action is enough to keep the story entertaining.

Adequate. You aren't going to love her but you probably won't hate her.

Could you see Extinction Point being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Eh? Yes, but...who cares. I'd like to write a review about the meaninglessness of this question for a book review.

If this is your genre it might not compare, but if you (like me) enjoy a change of pace. This book entertains at < $5.

Very interesting

Good story and great narration. Sometimes I wish the MC would just get to the point though.

Reasonable story but main character hard to like

I like the story line, interesting apocalypse. But 5he main character is so whiney at times and stupid and then brave. It just makes it hard to like her and hard to believe too.

A Little Unbelievable

Great story, and I was entertained, but a few things made me raise my eyebrows. Yeah, it's about an alien invasion, so of course we have to stretch to believe it, but beyond that, Emily makes some really dumb decisions. For example, choosing to pack canned foods instead of freeze dried, which would have been much lighter (although probably would require water to prepare). Whether she knew how to drive or not, she could pack her bike in an SUV and drive it as far as she could, (saving precious time)and resort to the bike when the road became blocked. Just little things that I thought were silly. However, I enjoyed the story and will be checking out the next one.

Not as annoying at the end.

That too stupid to live character in the horror movie genre somehow is the only surviving human in NYC & possibly the lower 48, Emily Baxter. Each bit of information is filtered through this persons relentlessly tiresome inner dialogue. The "aliens" are fascinating though. I read the dystopian side of sci-fi, so I don't have experience with creatures, but this set of beings is like nothing I've encountered in books or movies. I would read the next book out of curiosity for that alone, but I could not endure more Emily.

Good idea, unremarkable writing

What did you like best about Extinction Point? What did you like least?

I enjoyed the general idea of the book. It's nice to read an apocalyptic story that isn't about zombies or viruses. The creatures were creative and interesting, too. I'd like to read more about them.

There are a few things that I disliked about this book. I didn't much care for the writing style, and it felt like the story didn't really flesh out until the last hour or two.

Emily didn't feel like a real person to me. She just didn't seem to react much to the death of every person she's ever known.

Detail is good to a point, but the author put too much focus on mundane details, in my opinion. Also, after the first dozen times, it became annoying when Emily "decided to" verb when she could have just verbed.

Would you be willing to try another book from Paul Antony Jones? Why or why not?

I like this author's ideas, so I would give him another shot and hope that his writing improves.

I'd like to read a sequel to this book. The world has a lot of potential, but this story doesn't stand out on its own, and it needs something to follow it. I'm interested to see what happens next.

What about Emily Beresford’s performance did you like?

The narrator did a good job of injecting some feeling into the story. She 's not the best narrator I've ever heard, but she's quite good.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

There isn't enough in this book to make a decent movie. Once she actually reaches her destination, it'll probably make an okay movie.

This book is pretty good. I feel like the main character doesn’t have a wide emotional range but overall, the characters and plot are enjoyable.
