My favorite part of the story was trying to figure out who really was the bad guy.

My favorite scene was when the Super Soldiers were trying to subdue St. George and he says "I've been faking it".

Even better than the first

I loved it. Excellent pacing, fun new additions, a sensible plot, and a great performance. If you enjoyed EX Heroes, you'll certainly love this follow up. You can't go wrong.

What made the experience of listening to Ex-Patriots the most enjoyable?

I most enjoyed that the world Peter Clines has created seems like a real world with superheroes instead of a comic book world. The dangers of the main characters are exciting and it keeps you on the edge of your headphones to see how it all plays out.

What did you like best about this story?

Peter Clines does an excellent job with his transitions between the current timeline and the flashbacks to not only accentuate the drama but it helps with revealing surprises in a very timely manner.

Which character – as performed by Jay Snyder and Khristine Hvam – was your favorite?

The Mighty Dragon, Stealth, and Sergeant Freedom were my favorite characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The end of the world was just the beginning.

Super soldiers enter the post-apocalyptic fray.

Peter Clines does an excellent job picking up the story 2 years after the events of Ex-Heroes and introduces a new ingredient to his post-apocalyptic world: the super soldier. Of course little goes smoothly in a world full of zombies, super heroes, super villains, and now super soldiers.

When the military reaches out to the survivors at the Mount, Stealth and St. George are faced with some difficult decisions to make regarding the society they have worked so hard to build and protect. The inhabitants of the Mount never really planned for the option of being re-integrated into society and some question the validity of these government representatives. Others are eager for things to change and see this as a way to make that happen. The story moves forward at a rapid pace and the book flies by faster than Zzzap on a scouting mission.

That is until it ends all too quickly. I enjoyed most of the story but didn't feel a real sense of closure at the end. I wanted more of the threads that were started to be tied off but I guess I will just have to wait for the next book. The third book is slated to come out in 2013 and Peter Clines has begun to work on the 4th, so there will be more comic style fun to enjoy in the future.

There are actually 4 narrators of this book and they all do an excellent job. Although not listed by Audible, Mark Boyett is one of the additional narrators along with Elizabeth Rogers.

If you enjoyed Ex-Heroes then this is more of the same. This is an action packed book worth listening to but don't expect it all to be tied up for you neatly at the end.

totally, I thought it was even better than book 1...completely interesting, and entertaining....

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love The Mighty Dragon...and Zap...but there all great...Super heroes fighting the Zombocolypse.....lol

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked when they drugged Zap and he wakes up in the reactor and tries to escape...and also when Stealth is locked up and they think she has escaped and she kicks there butts....lol

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could have...it was really good!!!

I hope #3 comes out soon, this is a completely entertaining series...different and original...I loved the narration and I highly recommend!

Ok, I'm hooked

This story was a bit more frustrating than the first two as the superpower of the main villain is infuriating. However, the story is well told and we get to take our favorite characters outside of LA.

The rare followup that beats the original

This book beats the 1st book in the series...it is that good.
I like non-traditional hero/super hero books. This one is that because it has a group of different heros, each with their strengths and weaknesses, etc.
If you read the first one then you know this. The best part is this book keeps all of that fresh.

Zombies and superhumans, Worth the listen

I love a good zombie tale and was a little skeptical about the premise. I am so glad I gave this a chance. I listened to the first book, Ex-Heros, then this one, Ex-Patriots and I cant wait for the next one to come out. Great characters and story lines. I highly recommend this book and author. I'm a big fan now!
