Publisher's summary

"All of us try to cheat death. I was just better prepared to do it than most folks."In the years since the wave of living death swept the globe, St George and his fellow heroes haven't just kept Los Angeles' last humans alive - they've created a real community, a bustling town that's spreading beyond its original walls and swelling with new refugees. But now one of the heroes, perhaps the most powerful among them, seems to be losing his mind. The implacable enemy known as Legion has found terrifying new ways of using zombies as pawns in his attacks. And outside the Mount, something ancient and monstrous is hell-bent on revenge. As Peter Clines weaves these elements together in yet another masterful, shocking climax, St. George, Stealth, Captain Freedom, and the rest of the heroes find that even in a city overrun by millions of ex-humans... there's more than one way to come back from the dead.

Really enjoyed it! Corpse Girl !

I have been conservative with my five star ratings this year -- so this is a high 4 rating.

I have really enjoyed the Ex- series by Peter Clines. My favorite part of this book was the introduction of Madeline and her point of view.

Fun, enjoyable, would recommend this book. I immediately moved to the next and final(?) book in the series as soon as I finished.

Great series of books

What made the experience of listening to Ex-Communication the most enjoyable?

Having different and diverse characters narrated by multiple people.

What other book might you compare Ex-Communication to and why?

Don't know.

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to mention.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No. It takes a lot to move me. I need to diet.

Any additional comments?

I got the first book in the series for entertainment between big books, but I found I really enjoy these stories.

Greatness Continues

So far this series has been captivating! I’ve enjoyed every book and gotten through them faster than any other books I listen too. If you like zombies, super heroes, military valor or cult humor then this book is for you.

Just fun.

Peter Clines has taken the zombie genre to another level. A lot of tongue in cheek humor. Just listen and enjoy.

Each book in the series is better than the last.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend it, there's such a wide array of heroes its hard to choose a favourite. Ex-Communication in particular did a wonderful job of bringing up events from the first and second book and making them new problems or ideas.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ex-Communication?

I really enjoyed the heroes' humor, specifically Zzzap's Yugioh reference to Snyder's previous work in the anime show.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

Snyder, Hvam and Boyett give the characters life and their delivery as the individual characters is great.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were many times I laughed and chuckled as the heroes gave snarky responses. I might not have cried, but I came close. Many times I was worried for the safety of the heroes as they were in danger.

Any additional comments?

The transition to a very new plot idea in this book compared to the previous two paid off well. The problems the heroes faced were very different, but still very well written and exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat til the very end. I cannot wait to read the next book!

Peter Clines does it again

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommend Peter Clines books to everyone that I think would enjoy them. There is a great overall story that I think people will like if they are into the genre, but there are also subtle things that readers of classic horror and comic books will pick up on that not every reader may get.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think Max is my favorite character of this novel. You don't get to see that much of him in the previous books, and his character literally comes to life in this book. Every great hero, or heroes, needs a truly evil and diabolical villain to test there metal against.

Which scene was your favorite?

Of course the climactic battle is great, but when George leaves the compound to face , who knows what, the interaction between himself and Stealth is classic Super Hero self-denial. It shows how even though these were once normal people, they no longer are.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Even though it's not a big dramatic event, when it is revealed what Corpse Girl's real situation is. It kind of broke my heart. No matter what you believe in we are alive and aware of our own mortality.

Any additional comments?

I'm writing this after re-listening to the book in order to prepare for the next. I am so glad I started the series when it first came out. I will anxiously await each new book until Mr. Clines decides it's all over. And then listen to them all again.

I love how each book is different

Clines really did a good job with this series by keeping each book unique and full of its own flavor. The narration was good as always, and I just think this is another solid book. Recommended.

ups the action

This was a great story and introduces new characters and ideas. The action is greatly improved and chemistry between characters still remains great. Only problem is there too many characters with possession power.
