Publisher's summary

Audie Award Finalist, Paranormal, 2014

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails.

Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it. And that the most powerful demon in the ever after - the soul-eater Ku'Sox Sha-Ku'ru - has vowed to destroy Rachel, and has kidnapped her friend and goddaughter as leverage. If Rachel doesn’t give herself up, they will die.

Forced by circumstance, Rachel teams up with elven tycoon Trent Kalamack - a prospect fraught with dangers of the heart as well as betrayal of the soul - to return to the ever after and rescue those she loves.

Both worlds teeter on the brink, one on a possible interspecies war, the other for its very existence, and it’s up to Rachel to keep both from being destroyed.

The best book yet!!!!

I have NEVER felt hopeless during the past ten books, but this one was completely differente. What happened to Rachel and the rest of the gang was (Cant say).. but i really was on my toes waiting to see what will happen.. I couldn't focus at work at all while i was listening to it.... If you don't know about this series then go to the first book and start it... They have been through too much that you can't believe all the changes that happened.

Narration was excellent as always, and Kim gave us a masterpiece... Oh waw what a great book it is.

Harrison continues to make this series fresh!

Would you consider the audio edition of Ever After to be better than the print version?

I read Ever After and am currently listening to the audio version. I like both. Having Marguerete Gavin narrate brings all the characters to life. I think I hear her voice in my head when I was reading the story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ever After?

Trent and Rachel finally stop talking passed each other and really listen to what the other person has to say. This is totally important given how much they end up having to depend on one another and stop pushing each other's buttons to come up with an aligned plan.

Have you listened to any of Marguerite Gavin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I think Marguerite Gavin has narrated all of the Hollows Series save one, which they really should redo with Marguerite Gavin's narration. Her performance for the series has been incredible, this narration is no exception to what she has done in the past. She is distinct with each character. Great cadence in her narration.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I really would have loved to listed to this book in one sitting but it's a long book (thank goodness). I run while listening and my runs have never gone quicker, not that my running is any faster but listening to this latest Hollows book makes the run seem to go much faster!

Any additional comments?

Rachel is coming into her own in this new book, she clearly has matured and has a better sense of who she is and much more confidence than when the series began. I'm already looking forward to the next book. I read that Kim Harrison intends for the series to be complete at book 13, not sure if that's accurate. She continues to make each book fresh and exciting.

Rachel is Great

I have loved all of the book in this series. And this one is no exception. Well written and interesting. Kim Harrison has developed a world that seems complex and deep in scope. The characters seem like real people, flaws and all.

A good one, not a great one

This was another winner in the Hollows series. The narrator was great as always, the story line was good. I really liked the development of the relationship between Racheal and Trent. It just seemed to take a very long time to get everything done this time. This book could have been a couple chapters shorter and been no worse for it. But it was still a really good part of the Hollows series.

Another great story

What did you love best about Ever After?

I have followed these books from the beginning and I really enjoyed how this book was going. I would love to see romance interest go some where but I also love how all the people in the story are growing and changing. I laughed, and cried with this book and I look forward to see what Kim Harrison comes up with next for Rachel, Jinx, Ivy, And Trent.

What does Marguerite Gavin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This is a wonderful story reader. I love any book that Marguerite Gavin does. She brings the people in the stories to life.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Growth of a Demon.

Any additional comments?

I do hope others enjoy it as much as I did.

Great book

What made the experience of listening to Ever After the most enjoyable?

The emotional roller coaster ride.

Who was your favorite character and why?

How can you pick just one, although I really like Trent.

Have you listened to any of Marguerite Gavin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have to say Marguerite Gavin is by far my favorite; she really makes this series come alive.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it's really long (which is great) but I found myself staying up all night to finish it.

Any additional comments?

Great series, great characters, definitely one of my all time favorite series.

Finally she got the man she was meant to be with

So glad the series is headed in the direction it seems to headed in. We all want a happily ever after for Rachel & maybe someday, she will get hers with a man she has secretly loved all along. (She just didn't know it!)

One of the best in this series!

My best recommendation for this series is this book. I've actually considered rereading the entire series again due to this book. There are a ton of changes in this book! I think characters evolved. Looking forward to Kim Harrison's future work on this series!
