Publisher's summary

Angel Crawford is finally starting to get used to life as a brain-eating zombie, but her problems are far from over. Her felony record is coming back to haunt her, more zombie hunters are popping up, and she’s beginning to wonder if her hunky cop-boyfriend is involved with the zombie mafia. Yeah, that’s right—the zombie mafia. Throw in a secret lab and a lot of conspiracy, and Angel’s going to need all of her brainpower—and maybe a brain smoothie as well—in order to get through it without falling apart.

again, REAL LAUGHS and fast paced action

What did you love best about Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues?

This one was more suspenseful than the first which I still found to be a 5 star read. And it didn't lose any of the great qualities from the first book- still real, laugh out loud moments (from a reader who never laughs out loud no matter how funny).

What did you like best about this story?

I had a love/hate issue with the boyfriend. I wanted more romance but found that what was actually given made me love the main character and the story more. It made it more real. Very impressed with how that was handled.

Which scene was your favorite?

The main action scene at the end and the famous battle cry. Heard the battle cry in the first book and surprisingly did not expect it in the second one too but still made me cry-laugh and almost an actual fist pump- certainly never felt that reaction from reading the thousands of books I've read.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment when the relationship between main character and boyfriend changed in middle of the book. It was real and even though I'm a romance lover, I was so proud of this main character. Showed true growth and a certain selflessness.

Any additional comments?

I was on the edge of my seat on this one and the ending was even more intriguing than the first book. I've listened to all three in a row and stayed up quite late while listening. Even listened while doing the dishes and brushing my teeth- that's how captivating this series is.

Proof that sequels don't always suck

This book is amazing! My husband and I fell into this series by chance ( we're not usually zombie people) and we are now completely hooked. The action is balanced, the heroine is true to life believable, the dialogue is zingy and the plot is thrilling and balanced.my only issue is the fact that the narrator drops the ball on some of the male voices and the result is either lol funny or downright odd.
Otherwise the honey southern accent works wonderfully. This sequel does not disappoint!

I love Angel Crawford. She's smart, funny and completely herself. The narrator continues to do an amazing job bringing this series to life. I'm eagerly going to queue up the next book.

A great second in a series!

I really liked the first one, My Life as a White Trash Zombie, and was excited to get started on the second book. And honestly, book two didn’t disappoint, it was just as much a story that hooked me and kept me waiting and listening to see what would happen next and just who was behind what things. I also continued rooting for Angel as her zombie life continued and she tried to figure out her way in this new reality.

I had a feeling I might not be a fan of her boyfriend’s uncle. And I was right about that! While some of what happened wasn’t completely his fault, it was easy to tell he looked down on her and didn’t think she was right for his nephew when they first met. It was so frustrating for Angel though when everyone was not believing her, when someone who was a zombie, I mean, already that’s out there, you’d think would have been a bit more open to some of the theories she was coming up with.

Of course I continued to adore Angel. Like the funny little words or names she used, like “meanie pants” or zombie rebel alliance, lol. And I was so proud of her for not wanting her new boyfriend to treat her the way he was, for sticking up for herself. I liked how her relationship with her dad unfolded, not all of a sudden perfect, but a work in progress. And then there was her parole officer. That whole part of the story with her needing to take her GED, etc., added a bit of extra to the story. I also like all the people who were standing up for her, friends she’d made in her new life as they just got to know her and that she was a likable person.

There was a bad guy who showed up that I don’t want to spoil it, but if you read my last review or read the last book, you’d know it was someone I expected wouldn’t show up again for another book or so. But the way that person came back and how it moved the story along was perfect in my opinion. And again the author did a great job with making it so there were people that you weren’t sure if they were friend or foe. There was also a moment, and any Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans probably took it like I did, a line, “Hello Mother.”

I look forward to seeing where this story goes next, because I know the events and villains in this story will be back and I can’t wait to see how the author weaves it into the next book and just what else Angel might be dealing with.

Another Must-Have series!

It took me the longest time to listen to this series because A) the title is kind of misleading and I just wasn't sure and B) the cover artwork portrays a disagreeable character. Sorry to be petty, but it just looked like books I wouldn't like.
But I love them!
The writing is very clever and quite unique for this genre. I love the twist on zombies that Diana Rowland created. And Allison McLemore's narration is spot on.
This second book is as good as the first.
Hooked again.

Better than the first one!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If they wanted a light hearted, funny read....than yes....I would totally recommend this series....Angel is great!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Angel of course...she is sooooo funny! She has grown tremendously in this little series....people just assume she is stupid because she is all rednecky & white trashy....but she is friggin brilliant...and her personality is just so sassy and cute!!!

What does Allison McLemore bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She does a great angel and red neck,,,,,Allison is awesome!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

if I could have, I probably would have....for a 2nd book in a series, it did not disappoint!!!

Any additional comments?

I cant wait for #3.... I know Angel is going to do something totally cool...she is a great little heroine, and there is a lot more in store for her character, I just know it! I loved this book!!! I recommend it!
