Publisher's summary

Angel Crawford is finally starting to get used to life as a brain-eating zombie, but her problems are far from over. Her felony record is coming back to haunt her, more zombie hunters are popping up, and she’s beginning to wonder if her hunky cop-boyfriend is involved with the zombie mafia. Yeah, that’s right—the zombie mafia. Throw in a secret lab and a lot of conspiracy, and Angel’s going to need all of her brainpower—and maybe a brain smoothie as well—in order to get through it without falling apart.

This is my 3rd or 4th time through this series and I enjoy it just as much. I sure wish she would add to it. ❤️❤️

Braaiinns...

I loved the originality of the first book, My Life as a White Trash Zombie, so I had high hopes for book two. I wasn't disappointed. Granted, some of the newness had worn off the idea, but it wasn't at all tiring. The author kept up the voice and humor and delivered with plot, which could have gone all kinds of wrong in a zombie series.

If you read the first book, you know Angel had plenty of trouble in her life, but things were looking up. And now, between the requirements of her probation agreement and her building relationship with Marcus, she's struggling to keep things on track and live for herself. As a dead girl. But when you're working at a morgue, the one thing you can't do is lose a body, and when her zombie superpowers keep people from believing she was held at gunpoint, she sets out to prove herself. I'm not one for blood and gore, but I didn't have any problem with the way it was handled here. Angel has a great, "oh well, I'm eatin' brains" kind of attitude that just makes it funny, not gross... if you don't think about it too much. Plus, the narration is awesome.

I'd recommend this to any fan of urban fantasy/paranormal and humor. Can't wait for book three!

Great book 2

This Book 2 of the White Trash Zombie series picks up right where the first leaves off. Angel now having been a zombie for a while now, knowing what her new “lifestyle” needs for her survival. She can now focus on what she needs for pleasure and living a “normal” life. Mysterious brainless corpses start to show up and things start to get hairy at her job at the Corner’s after her past is dug up, as it is election year after all, Angel finds herself anticipating the worst. In this audiobook, I can best describe it as a mix between The Bourne Identity, a really good detective novel, and a good mind-twisting novel. I personally did not care for the in depth detective style parts, but they were need to progress with the story.

Laugh out loud funny

I literally laughed loud enough to have people look at me oddly while I was listening to this one. Angel is such a distinct character and her spin on things is immensely entertaining. I heartily recommend the series.

What did you love best about Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues?

The 2nd book was not a let down! I really enjoyed the story even if I can't listen to it while eating. The narrator was great too!

Brain Candy

Would you consider the audio edition of Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues to be better than the print version?

Love this series. It's fun, has a touch of romance and mystery. The narrator is great and helps make the story better. Not a serious read, but fun.

Love this series

The Angel Crawford series gives the reader action, horror, and romance in a solid storyline that will keep them coming back for more. The foundation of these addictive books is the protagonist. While she is resourceful and brave, Angel is also flawed and self conscious. She lets us watch as she works out the messy business of being here man, and a little bit not. The narrator does a wonderful job weaving the story from the page., never a distraction always an enhancement.

Brilliant on audio

Any additional comments?

The more time I spend with Angel the more I love this southern zombie chic. The girl is bright, doesn’t take any shit and her Nancy Drew skills at solving mysteries makes me giddy. Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues mystery thread ties into Ed and the beheaded zombies in book one. This book has it all- a secret lab testing zombies, hunters and boyfriend problems. Rowland added more depth, new characters and more complication for our girl. Rowland creates a tight tale and the more time I spend in this world the happier I am. The flow is wonderful and I am able to slip right into the story. This is an audio series where I look for excuses to listen and find myself listening for “just another chapter” late into the night. Romance, parental involvement and problems at the job keep our girl busy and I loved every dang moment of it. Allison McLemore truly brings Angel to life from the accent to her subtle snark.

Easy listening

This series is an interesting take on the zombie genre. Angel is an endearing character, even if she’s a zombie.
The narrator is marvelous!

But, thanks to the preview of the next book, the narrator changes in book 3. I found the new one to be harder to accept and I purchased the paperbacks for the remaining books in the series.

Such a refreshing idea

Any additional comments?

This series of books is SO great and refreshing in this genre of books. I listen to a LOT of paranormal books and series, but I have never been a fan of zombie apocalypse books. This series is very different from any of those!!! It's more like a vampire heroine book but with a GREAT twist on being a zombie!!! And each book just keeps getting better and better!!!!!
