Since feeding her with his own blood, Lucian Roman has struggled with his obsession with Bronwyn Kettler - fighting an uncontrollable desire to kill her, if he has to, and the vampire she has sworn to wed. But when a dangerous enemy threatens Bronwyn, only Lucian can save her life. Even if it means sacrificing his own....
Love in vein: listen to another Mark of the Vampire title.

So far there's not a negative thing to say about this series. It has completely sucked me in and left me impatiently waiting for the next. It's been awhile since I jumped into a series and by book three still felt completely enthralled. This author continues to up the bar. It's really refreshing.
In the beginning it appears our star-crossed lovers are doomed, but neither gives up the fight despite everything against them. This is the kind of romance novel I live for. Beyond that, I love the fact that our heroine is intelligent and never stops using her brain despite the odds. With every boulder thrown in their path Bronwyn stops to think about it, talk through it with Lucian, and determine the best course of action FOR THEM BOTH. She is as physically driven as he is yet she stops to consider the situation and find answers to solving their predicament instead of running away, pouting, and waiting for him to fix things. I love a heroine with a real brain and a pair of her own. I also loved how the author doesn't pretty up their physical attraction, but leaves it raw and inciting. Their love talk is a total turn on. It may be too x-rated for some, but completely fits the attitude of the main characters. Give me mmmmoooorrrrreeee.
I loved the way Lucian understood his fate, but didn't really give in to it. He recognized his love for Bronwyn and was willing to fight for whatever time they had with each other. I teared up when he told her he wanted whatever time they had, but would end his life when the change finally came. He couldn't bear having her know him as any other man than hers. You gotta love it!
The sub-plots were equally as engrossing. I can't wait to hear more about Sin's future and Dillon's future. I hope they are books in the making. This author knows how to capture an audience and I wholly look forward to how she continually builds her world.
This time it was Lucian and Bronwyn's story and what a story it was - a bitter-sweet doomed romance that had Lucian sacrificing himself rather than giving in to the Breeding Male's base instincts. The plot is richly filled with interesting characters both past and present and the whole thing comes together to make a delicious paranormal romance tale.
Tavia Gilbert knocks it out of the park, as usual, with her brilliant narration techniques.
I'm looking forward to Dillon and Gray's story in Eternal Beast [book 4] which is out in August and I hope Ms Wright doesn't stop there but is melting her keyboard right now on book 5 and even 6 coz her fans just can't get enough of this series.
Worth my credit? Yes definitely, in my opinion, a credit well spent.
This series just keeps getting better and better with each new book! Looking for to the rest of them!!!
This story is more like a 3.75. It's HOT, so it's only for those, like myself, who don't mind explicit language. Though it's not chock full of sex scenes, nor or they gratuitous or repetitive, IMO. The sex scenes are also sensual and not just raw. So there's a level of romance that's yummy. Another good aspect of the book is it's thoroughness and depth within the storyline, which created a significant degree of realism and logic in this paranormal tale. Also, though I've listened to other books in this series, I don't think it's necessary to in order to enjoy this book. The narrator did a good job, especially with the British & Scottish accents, but there was little difference among the male voices and among the female voices. Still, it didn't detract from the story. It's just that the story was good but not memorable. You are left with a bit of a cliffhanger to spur us to get the next story, but you do know what happens in the end to the main characters in this story. So that's good.
Reading is a must-have ESCAPE...
The series explores the lives of the Roman brothers, how they find/secure their life mates, and combat "the order" and the evil Cruen. The first installment, Eternal Hunger, was fairly well-developed and entertaining. The story line puts an interesting twist on the many paranormal romance stories out there.
The romantic story in Eternal Hunger (Book 1) and Eternal Kiss (Book 2) are tantalizing, but both books pale in comparison to Eternal Captive (Book 3). The chemistry and 'scenes' between Bronwyn and Lucian are so well described and beguiling that it'll draw you back to re-read/listen. Found the unexpected language quite alluring!
Gilbert acts the story out quite well. Found Eternal Beast (Book 4) to be my least favorite to date.
This book is a 5 out of 10
I premise is awesome, the rambling is a little tough to get through, We strat forward with the story, then back up and rehash.
Tavia's voice is the reason I'm listening to this series
Brownly is a real woman...I liked the way she thinks
Yet another good book! I haven't been able to put them down! This book kept me wanting to know more and more and I ended up staying up til like 3 in the morning til the book was done! I have only been like this with 2 other series... one was Twilight and one was Fifty Shades of Gray! It has made my collection of books! It's easy to follow and the Narrator is one of my FAVES!
This is a great book as well... I love reading this series the third book was my most favorite book between Lucian and Braunwin... Him as the breeding male and how she saves him... and they fall in love and what a great father be becomes...
For me its the Romance... the feeling of being with your soul mate, not being able to get enough of them..
The Narrator was perfect. She did does a nice Scottish Brogue of Lucian....
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
Great series...but I kind of stop following along. Since I purchased all of these book together I made myself listen to this book, but I found that this was the same ol same ol as book 2. I won't be getting book 4. It seem like it is hard for series of this nature to continue after book 2 or 3... I have only seen writers like Larrisa Ione or Jacqueline Frank do it extremely well... This had potential...but it fell short to me.
