Epic story about magic and dragons
This book and this series (The Inheritance Cycle) are one of my all time favorites because it is such an amazing story of magic and dragons. It starts off with a young man who discovers and dragon egg and you watch as that event changes his life. The author, Christopher Paolini creates a fantastic world with an unique magic system and strong characters.
Additionally, he narrator, Gerard Doyle, does a great job voicing the different characters, especially the dragon.

It's worth your time!
Eragon was written when the author was still a teenager, and that reality does make itself known from time to time. The writing is sometimes heavy-handed, the forshadowing obvious, and you won't see a whole lot of originality concerning setting.
However the tale on the whole is redeeming by merits of story and characters. If you love fantasy then you will notice many common tropes, but they are integrated very well into the plot. On the whole, I recommend this.

Amazing! Thrilling!
