Love the book!
Read this 20 years ago and have came back to listen to it. The story is great and for the most part I think the person who is reading does a great job, I am not huge fan of Saphiras voice but I get what he was going for. I always thought of her as wise woman not so much a monster but once you get used to it you don't really notice. Thanks for a great ride!

The world building is wonderful.
Sometimes the story can be a tiny little bit rusty, but every story is, and for being written by an amateur teen, it's just amazing. Definitely better connected and consistent than Harry Potter, in my opinion.
The narrator is fine, until he narrates Safira or Solembum, or - godforbid - tries to put emotions into the speech, which just isn't working out for him. He goes for it, but doesn't lean into it fully, so it sounds so ingenuine that it feels almost parodic, and it ruins the immersion a of the moment. That last battle-losing speech of Eragon's had only make me laugh. Other than that, the narrator's voice is quite pleasant and fits the book well.

Why?
Why did the narrator decide to ruin this book? I don't know if I could come up with worse voices on purpose. Every time Saphira or the werecat speak, I'm amazed again at just how stupid and awful there mind voices are and it pulls me right out of the story. Great author, especially for his age, but he should have vetted his narrator better

Love the series, the pronunciation fails sometimes.
The reader's mispronounciation of "Murtagh" was rather annoying. it's obviously not "Mur-Tag" but rather "Mur-tah" other than that it was great! granted the reader also mispronounced Eragon a couple of times but it wasn't as egregious.

Great Fantasy Saga
I haven't read this book for nearly 20 years. It was great to relive it. My only criticism is the way is the way Sophia's voice sounds (like a scary old guy). I am looking forward to the next title.

Great Adventure
Hearing the story read after reading it was throughly enjoyable. The narrator was superb in mastering the various characters voices and this is one to listen to again and again. Absolutely worth the investment!

Refreshing. so we'll written, obviously this tome helped pave the way for so much of modern dragon based books. beautifully crafted, and I love that it's not filled with se× scenes etc. what a magical world, simply good fun.

Great!
This is a great start to an awesome story! I’ve read the complete series a few times and just finished Murtagh so I wanted to come back and listen to the originals. The audiobook version is awesome!
