Very well done

This is a favorite book of mine because I like how Card combines a retelling of the fairy tales Baba Yaga and Sleeping Beauty. It is intriguing and well written. What I also appreciated was having two different readers -- a man and a woman, though it would have helped to have them both listed under Narrator. It's good having both readers because Card switches viewpoint throughout the story. Having a woman read the female viewpoints made it easier to pay attention to where it was at.

It's a fascinating look at the ramifications of modern ideas and beliefs brought into an ancient world. The differences in culture and behavior. I'm glad I bought it.

Transcends fiction to greatness

This is an excellent fantasy that concerns itself with the greatest themes of being. Our roles in existence, what it means to be a leader, what a good husband should look like, imperial reality and how it relates to the unexplainable phenomenon. All of that is in this book but in the package of an incredibly engaging story with believable characters and excellent dialog. Definitely one of the great books worth reading.

Awesome Story!

Not what I would have expected from Orson Scott Card who is clearly not limited to science fiction.

Fun, new and real!

Would you consider the audio edition of Enchantment to be better than the print version?

Probably haha. Since I never read it, the audio is great though.

What other book might you compare Enchantment to and why?

Speaker for the Dead. Just bcuz the author has a unique sense of humor.

What does Stefan Rudnicki bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Emotions and tone and ... audio. Haha

Any additional comments?

4 stars bcuz it wasn't as good as the 5 star books. Didn't keep my interest all the time. Steelheart is amazingly 5 stars!!

Wonderful story, without the shallow depth of most such fantastic novels

I absolutely loved this book. It touched on my favorite subjects, history, archeology, linguistics, religion, mythology, fantasy, and love story. Without being a flighty silly novel. The narrator is my favorite to listen to. I can’t say enough good things about this book.
