A fantastic book

I expected great things from Orson Scott Card, but this exceeded all my expectations.

Interesting tale

This tale weaved Modern and ancient concepts, scientific and magic with an a touch of romance, good and evil.

Enchanting

Loved it!
A great author takes on a well known story and puts his own twist on it.

Not the usual Card novel but perhaps my favorite.

Where does Enchantment rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I read the novel years ago and I really enjoyed the audio version. There were so many parts I had forgotten! I wish there were more stories like this one. It has just the right blend of "fish out of water" and sci-fi!

Which scene was your favorite?

That would give too much away! ;)

Any additional comments?

I personally love time travel novels where the protagonist is shocked by his/her surroundings. This one is a time travel/fish out of water novel with some great twists!

Interesting version

I enjoyed this even though it is lengthy. Fun to think about the way things turn out after the kiss wakes up the princess.

Pretty good

Worth the read...not the best OSC, but it is amazing how he turned this fairy tale into a good modern day read

Would you consider the audio edition of Enchantment to be better than the print version?

I love this audio. The readers are excellent. There are two. At first I was disappointed that Stefan Rudnicki did not do the entire reading as he is so excellent but the female reader did a nice job as well so it was all good. I preferred the audio of this book because the readers did such a nice job bringing the culture into their voices. I knew what had taken place in the 'real' world during this time period having just read Secondhand Time (Russian history) and it made Enchantment even better.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Each character had their own lovable aspect. I think though the mother was my favorite.

Have you listened to any of Stefan Rudnicki’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not but will look for his other readings now that I have heard him.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No..... it flowed nicely and I just enjoyed it in its entirety.

Any additional comments?

There was a bit more crass language than I would have liked but it did fit the book and the characters.

Wonderfully done!

I am not a fan of OSC books. I have tried to read any number of them and just can't seem to get into them. This was a wonderful book and I loved it! Full of humor, imagination, thoughtful insights, and historical background. Bravo to the narrators as well. Having both a male and female narrator really brought this book to life for me. Once I started listening I had difficulty pausing to take care of real life. Lovely book!

BRILLIANT!!!

This was a BRILLIANT reading of a wonderful book! You have to understand that I ENJOYED getting stuck in traffic twice a day for 2 hours EACH WAY so I could listen to this book. It was an absolute MASTERPIECE!!!!! Buy it, download it, listen and see for yourself.

A very enjoyable listen

This was not what I expected, and thats what made it all the more enjoyable. It is a retelling of Sleeping Beauty, but from a very practical sense of view. I was enthralled from the very first. The narrators are both fabulous at lending a life to each individual character and enriching the story altogether. This took a few twists and turns I wasnt expecting, but I thoroughly enjoyed them all. It is very verbose and a little longer than most audiobooks, but if you love a good story then look no further than this.
