Publisher's summary

Some feelings you just can't fight.

He is known as the Warrior Captain - a master of every weapon, a fierce soldier sworn to protect his kind. Powerful, relentless, merciless, Elijah has always won every battle he's ever taken on - until now. Ambushed by necromancers, he is left for dead only to be discovered by the woman who could very well deliver the final blow: Siena, the Lycanthrope Queen.

With three centuries of warring, little more than a decade of uneasy peace has existed between the Lycanthropes and Elijah's people. Now, after a lifetime of suspicion, the warrior in Elijah is consumed with a different battle - winning Siena's heart by giving her pleasure beyond all boundaries. What starts as attraction and arousal soon burns into a passion with consequences that will echo through the ages for both their people. And as would-be enemies become inseparable lovers, another threat approaches, one with the power to destroy them all.

Spend some more time with the Nightwalkers - if you dare.

Critic reviews

"Both leads are strong, and Frank grants her hero a refreshing measure of insight into the relationship. What works even better is the camaraderie that develops between the Nightwalker tribes, as Frank plunges deeper into her dark world." ( Publishers Weekly)

Five Stars For The Narration

Once this book finally got going with some dialog instead of all the thinking and telling of the story I enjoyed it. The "voices", the interpretation of the characters personalities and their actions were all spot on.

This series is fabulous as narrated by Sands - Audio is the ONLY way to go with these books.

Demons vs Lycanthropes ... who will win??

This is the third book in the Nightwalker series. This book revolves around Elijah, the Demon Warrior Captain and Siena, the Lycanthrope Queen. Ruth, the Demon Chancellor, has teamed up with the necromancers and they have trapped Elijah and have beaten him down to the brink of death. Luckily for Elijah, Siena was prowling nearby and scarred off the necros before they could deliver the death blow to him. Siena then pulls Elijah to safety in a nearby cave and starts tending to his wounds.

We know from earlier books that Elijah and Siena both have a hidden attraction for each other, but it is an attraction that is best hidden because mating between the two species is strictly forbidden for him. Because of the Lycanthrope history of war with the demon races, demons should be the last choice of a mate for lycanthropes also. So that is what makes it that much better! Forbidden love is so sweet.

Elijah and Siena try to fight the in grown prejudices they have for each other’s species, the growing attraction they have for each other, and the call of that dreaded moon has on their libido. It is difficult to do because every touch, every glance, and every breath draw them closer together.

I loved this book! I was worried when I didn’t enjoy the second in the series as much as the first that the series might be on a downward spiral, but I don’t think that anymore. I love the way Jacqueline Frank is putting folks together in her Nightwalker series and cannot wait to see what happens to Damien in the next book.

The Narration Review:
This book was narrated by Xe Sands, who also narrated the first two in the series. She has a very alluring voice and clear diction. I always think the production team must have to run to the showers after a session listening to her read.

Xe Sands makes the series!!!!

I have simply fallen in love with this series. What an amazing world Jacquelyn Frank has weaved for us. It's just simply amazing. I LOVED Elijah. Who knew the man who would joke and laugh with Isabella was such a fierce lover? YUMMY! I also loved the way he adapted to a situation that NO ONE could have expected. Sienna, I think rubbed me a bit of the wrong way in the beginning but I loved her by the end.

The fight between the nightwalkers and the necromancers and hunters also heated up in this book. I really can't wait to see what happens next. And I really want Ruth to get hers.

And once again Xe Sands has made this book for me. Her expert narration and wonderful voice interpretations from the accents to the inflections and intonations. She's amazing. It's a shame I can't get her to read all of my audiobooks. LOL

I'm now onto Damien, however, I must wait for the audiobook to come out later this month, because I don't think I can read the books now. I HAVE to listen to them on audio! :)

Still loving this series!!!

Book 3 does not disappoint. The saga continues with the lycanthorpe, demon, druid, and vampire races. I have really enjoyed this series and I recommend it. In my opinion it's well worth the credit or purchase price. I'm definitely getting book 4.

My favorite in this series.

I don’t consider this entry the best of the series in terms of the plot. My rating for this novel comes solely from the fact that I utterly and fully felt in love with Siena and Elijah- it’s as simple as that, and I’m most likely ignoring some of the book’s flaws by my partiality towards their romance. From the moment these two protagonists met in the previous book; I felt their real and unquestionable chemistry, and when I finally got my hands on the book I loved every minute of it. The struggle they undergo to overcome their differences make their moments together steamy, erotic, spontaneous, tender, scorching hot and explosive. Elijah, the Demon Captain, is an alpha male through and through, but he’s not afraid to back down from the sometimes temperamental, Siena Queen of the Lycanthropes. I love them together as well as independently. They are both strong and determined leaders.
As a paranormal romance, these books do follow a formula, but after all, we read/listen to these books for the fantasy and escapism they offer, and this series is not the exception, the action, suspense, hot alpha males, kick -ass heroines, the erotic but tastefully written scenes, and the intricate world so cleverly put together by Ms. Franks, will do just that.
Xe Sands has done it again!! And I didn’t have any doubts to the contrary, especially after her great performance with Jacob (first of this series). The complete grasp of these characters and the world is clearly conveyed by her rendition. The long introduction at the beginning of this book, takes a completely different tone with the soft, sensual, never intrusive or jarring voice of Ms. Sands, and allows the listener to be completely submerged in the story, forgetting a times the fact that it’s being read by some else, that in and of itself is a tremendous achievement for a narrator and most definitely accomplished by Ms. Sands with the narration parts of this book. Again the male voices are impressive, no complaints at all with her portrayal on Elijah, his personalty was beautifully brought to life. Siena's Russian accent, although not the best I've listened to, was compensated by the manner it was delivered, clearly communicating her strong willed personalty.
All in all, this was an excellent performance by Xe Sands.

Relationship developed too quickly

These books have been really great. With each one Jacquelyn Frank has moved the overall plot along, increased interest, built the world and got in a good romance as well. This particular romance felt a little bit rushed to me. The situation that the two characters found themselves in was somewhat unique, but they're so different and there are so many potential challenges between them that it seemed a bit over-the-top for them to become a couple and get married so quickly.

Having said that, this book is still well worth the read and it hasn't put me off the rest of the series in the slightest. I also have nothing but good things to day about Xe Sands and her narration.

Jacquelyn Frank does it again! Best one yet!

I love this series by Jacquelyn Frank! She brings to life the species that we all know, and gives them a new twist. She keeps some of the old myths, but definitely puts her own flair on them. I love the characters. Xe Sands does a great job of bringing all the characters their own unique voice. I love Jacob and Gideon, but Elijah stole my heart. This is an excellent series that I would recommend for anyone.

Wow... Sexy Elijah!

I just knew Elijah would not be with a Druid... Now that I have read this, I see all the foreshadwing from Book 1. I knew Elijah's mate would have to be just as powerful as he was. I love that he mates with Siena. I love Elijah's personality. He is just so funny, even when he is being romantic. Such a warrior. It's like he only thinks about battle, but he soo funny with it. Loved it. Another great one from Frank. Nightwalker sereis is the best romantic/fantasy series I have ever read/listen too! Worth a buy or credit...

still loving the series

I have really enjoyed these books, as they are a different take on the whole demon, wereanimal, and vampire worlds. This book is sexy and has a strong story-line to go along with it. The main women in the books are strong characters in their own rights, but are made more complete by their bond with the male counter-parts.

Elijah doesn't know his life is incomplete, until he is mortally injured and he receives the assistance of Sienna, the werecougar queen. They initially resist the pairing, especially the female, but in the end the resistance is all for naught. Having had only a distaste for male warriors like her dad, Sienna is afraid to let go for fear of having devastating results occur for herself and her people. Elijah must prove himself to her, all while a crazy renegade demon tries to take out all the people he loves. Great story, with all the various stories going on tying up neatly at the end.
