He vowed he'd come for her...

Murdered before he could wed Regin the Radiant, warlord Aidan the Fierce seeks his beloved through eternity, reborn again and again into new identities, yet with no memory of his past lives.

She awaits his return...

When Regin encounters Declan Chase, a brutal Celtic soldier, she recognizes her proud warlord reincarnated. But Declan takes her captive, intending retribution against all immortals - unaware that he belongs to their world.

To sate a desire more powerful than death...

Yet every reincarnation comes with a price, for Aidan is doomed to die when he remembers his past. To save herself from Declan’s torments, will Regin rekindle memories of the passion they once shared - even if it means once again losing the only man she could ever love?

A wonderful tale.

Loved it. It's presented a Viking story of a hero and his love for his fated bride. With a spirit so strong that even death couldn't keep him from returning to her. There's so much drama, and humor, it just sucks you into the story and becomes a serious disappointment when the book ends. Recommended.

Great Story- Best Male Narrator Ever!

Wow this series is so good. I just love the Lore and all the immortals. This is Regan's story and just as wonderful as the rest of the books. If you have not listened to all of these books you are truly missing out.

Robert Petkoff is the absolute best male narrator to ever narrate.

Credit Worthy? yes yes yes yes and yes!!!!

Great addition to the series :D

4.5-5 stars

This was a great story. I have to admit that in past books I've found Regin to be a bit on the annoying side and wasn't sure I'd like her as a heroine but she ended up being a great heroine. Declan seemed like a bad guy in the previous book but after find out about his past, I can totally see how he was driven into his current situation.

Regin the Radiant is a Valkyrie that's descended from a race of people that had glowing skin, a trait which she inherited. She is known as the party girl but deep down she has sorrow and plays at being happy to cover it.

Declan is a reincarnated berserker (formerly known as Aidan the Fierce). He started feeling weird and restless when he was young and never understood why. When he was around 18, his brother and parents were killed by a group of evil immortals who then tortured him but kept him alive to feed on him. He was eventually saved by a group of humans known as "The Order" and in a bid for revenge, he joined them and was determined to kill any members of the Lore her could (seeing no difference between the good and evil ones).

Around a 1,000 years ago, Regin met a berserker named Aidan. He fell in love with her and was determined to claim her. She eventually started falling for him as well but before their bond was complete, Aidan was killed. He swore to come back in another life to find her and he did. The problem is that when Aidan found Regin and kissed her, he'd regain his memories and die almost immediately after that. Regin felt they were cursed and after losing him 4 times, she wasn't willing to go through that again. Because of this, she's done everything she can to avoid finding Aidan when she felt that he had been reincarnated again. Unfortunately, The Order had their sights set on capturing her and Declan ends up being the one to complete that mission. She's shocked to realize that Declan is Aidan (having a hard time believing that he'd hurt her) and Declan found himself unnerved by and very unhappy about the connection he felt to Regin.

While Regin is captive, Declan does some things to her that aren't nice at all but he starts doubting himself and his mission. Regin doesn't want to hurt him but soon realizes that she must in order to save herself and all the other Lorians that are captives of the Order. Due to some bad mojo brought down by Lothaire (a fallen vampire) the Order's Lorian prison is destroyed and it's inhabitants escape. Just as that's happening, Declan comes to terms with his need for Regin and is determined to save her and protect her. Unfortunately, his past deeds make it seem unlikely he'll win her and even if he could, almost impossible for him to live very long since he's not immortal and the many released prisoners all want to kill him for what he did to them. There's a lot of drama and danger but things do work out in an unexpected way and Declan and Regin end up with a HEA together.

I greatly enjoyed this story. Both Regin and Declan were characters I wasn't sure I'd like but I loved them by the end. It was a little touch and go at first because of the issues between Declan and Regin but I was really happy with how they worked things out. I'd recommend this book and the series. :D

The Longer The Better

These books keep getting longer and longer as the world building becomes more and more complex. I really like that. The plots have also become a lot more interesting, and the characters have become more multifaceted.

This is Regin's story, and she's one of my favorite characters, outside of Nix.
