Publisher's summary

The people of Krynn have known war in past ages. Some are still alive who remember the triumph of good at the conclusion of the War of the Lance. Still more remember the devastation of the Chaos War, which ended the Fourth Age of the world.

But now a new war is about to begin, more terrible than any have known. This war is one for the very heart and soul of the world itself.

My love for Dragonlance was almost overshadowed

I love Dragonlance. Its my favorite, and I've gone through the series up until this point.
The narrator of this book almost killed it for me. Their pronunciation has been mentioned before, so I won't go too deep into that. But it just feels like there is a distinct lack of passion for their performance.
The real bummer for me was [Spoiler Warning ⚠️]
The second yo last chapter. One of the main characters is literally fighting a dragon, but the scene was narrated with the pace and tone of an NPR show or a sleep podcast. I'm committed to the trilogy by this point, but the narrator has turned something I was excited about into a chore; Something I've got to get through so I can get to the next trilogy.

Pause. Every other. Word before...

Female captain Kirk narrates. Butchers. Character names. Reads dialog. One way while. Literally reading. That. It should. Be done another.

An ok story, not wild about the reader

What did you like best about Dragons of a Fallen Sun? What did you like least?

This is a series of books written to correct the mistake of the 5th age books. It rights wrongs, and over all is a good story

How could the performance have been better?

The main way the performance could have been better would be if someone would have instructed the reader how certain things and characters names are pronounced. The name Majere is not pronounced "Mah-jerry" the word liche is not pronounced "lick-ay"

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yeah

Fantastic dragonlance edition horrible narrator

Been a fan of the core Dragonlance stories, when written by Margaret and Tracy. Not so much the other stories. This is a fantastic edition!

It is a good thing the story is so well written because the narrator is aweful. She sounds like a little girl and makea the elves sound like squeaky mice. Why must every narrator have their own Pronunciations? This is the 3rd DL narrator and each pronouncea key things so different. Why not consult Margaret and Tracy and get some consistency.

Great story horrible narrator.

I found the narrators voice so irritating I can't listen to this. Amazing story, if you can deal with her it's worth it.

Great Book

One of my favorite series of all time, wanted to go through it again except via audible. The narrator threw me off at first just because it wasn't what I expected but after getting used to the nasally tone and occasional mispronouncing of words I got settled in.

Excellent story and performance

Continuing the dragonlance series, Hickman and Weis take readers on a new journey with new characters and favorites alike. The progression of the series is well planned and brings a sense of fulfillment and closure to the previous books' characters. The performance by Herington is also well done. Characters have their own voices and personalities and you feel drawn into the story through her performance.

The story is great, the narration is awful.

The frequent mispronunciation of character names is forgivable, but mispronouncing multiple common words is horrible. I find I am shouting the words at the stereo every time she says them incorrectly. Also, doing Elf voices like Kender voices is terrible. A fierce warrior Elf should not sound like the little people. I find myself wondering whether or not anyone tests these out before releasing them. It would not have taken very long to discover the many errors.
