Tom Baker here reprises the role of the Fourth Doctor, with Susan Jameson as Mrs Wibbsey and Richard Franklin as Mike Yates.
Two things arrive on the same night in Central Park, New York, 1976. The first is a fireball from space, bringing with it a new identity for one Alice Trefusis. The second is the TARDIS, carrying the Doctor and his friends on the trail of an unusual comic book cover. The Doctor’s strength is sapped by something in the New York air - but what could cause such a malaise? As he and Mike are first mixed up with the police and then taken on an aerial ride over the city, Mrs Wibbsey comes face to face with the legendary Talkies film star Mimsy Loyne. And all the while, long multicoloured scarves and floppy felt hats are climbing the stairs of the Dakota Building....
With Tom Baker as the Doctor, Susan Jameson as Mrs Wibbsey, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates, Trevor White as Buddy, Laurel Lefkow as Alice, Lorelei King as Mimsy Loyne, Rupert Holliday Evans as the Cop, and John Chancer as the Cultist, Starfall is the fourth of five linked stories written by the acclaimed Paul Magrs.

Well the thing is, it's five short episodes which means you pay roughly $50 for just over 5 hours of entertainment. Most of the books on Audible are much, much longer and cost only one credit. So you have to be a REALLY hardcore Tom Baker Doctor Who fan to appreciate this presentation.
I am almost hard core enough.
That said, it's a pretty wonderful story and absolutely delightful narration. Of course, Tom Baker is first rate. (If you haven't purchased Shada yet, consider it). Mrs. Wibsey and Mike are wonderful as well. In fact, if all five episodes were available for one credit... Well, there you have it.
The Doctor meets a superhero. This story was a nice homage to comic heroes. It even had a character that's a lot like Stan Lee. I can hardly wait for the last chapter.
Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes.
This was most assuredly the worst episode I've ever listen too. Tom Baker Is and shall always be my favourite doctor. Tom Baker's wonderful voice and skill could not save this piece. Full frontal nudity and free cash couldn't save it. Too violent for children, to stupid for adults. Buy at your own risk.
"tom baker is the best Dr who"
Another example of Paul margs and tom baker coming together to make another classic Dr who adventure.great fun and well worth a listen.
