Publisher's summary

Sylvester McCoy, Stephen Fry, and John Sessions star in an action-packed adventure specially created for audio.

The Doctor and Antimony arrive on the planet Santiny, just as it comes under attack by General Tannis and his Canisian battle fleet. Meanwhile, his other companion, Ace, finds herself under the guidance of the mysterious Casmus, who seems to foresee an important and unusual role in store for her. As the adventure lurches from Santiny to contemporary London and on to Gallifrey, it becomes clear that the Canisians' next target is to be Earth.

First webcast on BBCi and also starring Sophie Aldred, Anthony Stewart Head, and Leonard Fenton, this original audio adventure unites elements of the Doctor's past with bold and original ideas for his future.

Huh?

A very strange and disjointed story. It might have been intended as a sort of unofficial last episode for the old series.

Annoying waste of money...

This isn't a traditional audiobook at all--it's the soundtrack of a cheesy TV series, complete with the irritating special effect sounds and annoying voices. The dialogue is ridiculous, and the stories would only be appealing to 10 year old boys.

Confusing

I wanted to like this audio adventure but unlike those done by Elizabeth Sladen and John Pertwee, this adventure does not flow well, has some overwhelming sound effects which blot out dialogue at times, and is produced as if the listener could see what is happening.

Slyvester McCoy is barely in the episode and the events in this story seem over the top, even for Doctor Who.

Good voice acting, especially by John Sessions.

Oh dear, such melodrama

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I can't imagine, maybe a Dr Who fanatic? This was very much the old-style Doctor.

Would you ever listen to anything by Colin Meek again?

Maybe, but I would listen very carefully before buying

How could the performance have been better?

the acting was very uneven, from good, eg Stephen Fry to dreadful eg all the supporting cast

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I've racked my brain, but...no.

Any additional comments?

I much prefer the new Doctor Who, all of them, so I will pay attention when shopping.
