Narrator is very bad.

Loved this book and have approved of all the books in the series. I do not like the narrator at all. She does not change how she describes mundane issues with how she describes fights and battles. It is very hard to get excited about the book the first time through. Definitely would not use this narrator again. Will not seek out books read by her.

narrator. I don't enjoy her.

What disappointed you about Divided Allegiance?

narration.

Would you ever listen to anything by Elizabeth Moon again?

Maybe.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jennifer Van Dyck?

No idea.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I have read it before and enjoyed it. The narration irritated me so much that I could not even begin this one.

A great read a d a wonderful set.

There are few book series that capture what honor truly is like this series. I have read these books many times and am inspired each time to be a better person. I highly recommend this series to anyone.

an excellent story, expertly performed.

I loved this story, the work is immersive, and the characters are down to earth. some graphic scenes do occur, and Elizabeth moon does not hold back.
Many of the experiences portrayed in the novel are relatable to modern day experiences, both good and bad. those with PTSD may be a bit triggered, so be warned, this book does cover war, torture, and death, among other sensitive topics.

Lots of Adventure

Paks sets out on an adventure and there is plenty in this book. This is completely different than the first book. My only complaint is the narrators choice for the elves. This is silly on my part, but they sound like the aliens in the "Galaxy Quest" movie and it grates on my nerves.

where's the ending ?

The book was a great read - until the end. I know this is part of a series, but the first book was complete in itself. This one ends with even the author seeming not to know where the protagonist is. It was an endingthat was as unsatisfactory as the rest of the book was good. I will read the next volume, but not because the ending inspired me to keep reading.

The feels

The narration was on point and every character had a distinct voice, despite many written characters.

The story was compelling and I had to keep listening.

Spoilers:

Tears, feels, and general frustration/confusion felt alongside Paks has left me needing to buy more credits before my next one is available.

Elizabeth Moon, thank you. I love you and I hate you. This series has brought me a new view and understanding of not only paladins but fantasy in general.
