Oooooooooh Booooooooy!

All I can say, is "oooooooh booooooooy!"

Just thinking of this book makes my toes tingle. It's by far the best of the series.....hopefully, so far. I'm head over hills in love with Eric now. I had been on Bill's team, but since this book, forget Bill! When I finish listening to the entire series, I'm immediately listening to this book again. Through out books 5, 6 & 7, my mind keeps wondering back to #4. Why can't they all be like this? No wonder book #5 has so many bad reviews......you can't improve on perfection, and Dead to the World is delightful perfection.

Favorite Sookie Novel

This novel, #4 in the Southern Vampire Mystery series is pivotal. Audible SVM fans have been waiting for it to complete our set. Since another four novels continue the series after this one, I can't write @ the plot, but many of the twists in the next four,(& the 9th book due out this spring), depend on this sexy and exciting episode. So for SVM fans it's not to be missed.

For new fans of the Sookie Stackhouse novels who watch True Blood on HBO, you'll find the books different from the series. They are lighter & more humorous. The plots are better, the dialogue not as self-conscious & Bill is NOT the hero.

The narrator of this entire series is Johanna Parker. She is first rate at giving distinct personalities to each character. She deserves a prize. I hope that she's back to read #9.

Team Eric

I have gone over to the dark side. I am now for Team Eric. Spoiler Alert: I am going with the belief that amnesia Eric is his original human nature. Sensual Viking Chivalry works for me. I must admit I love the bad Eric too. He is such a beautiful bad boy. I can't wait to find out what is going to happen to Jason on the full moon.

One of my favorite books so far in the series.

This was one of my favorite books so far in the series. I am enjoying Sookie and Eric's relationship and watching it develop more in this book. This book also leads you deeper in the supernatural world that Sookie is discovering. You get to meet different kind of supernatural charters in this book. In this book Eric looses his memory due to a witch and Sookie must protect him while finding out what has happened to her brother Jason who has gone missing. A great mystery with a lit of humor and wit tossed in for fun.

A paradigm shift for Sookie & Eric!

I was a fan of these books as they came out, long before True Blood. They should be listened to in order. Sookie Stackhouse is as down to earth as a telepath involved with faieries, vampires, werewolves and shapeshifters can be! This is my favorite book in the series, as I am a big fan of Eric. Sookie and Eric both have big changes in this one, and it starts a ball rolling that comes back again and again through the rest of the series (so far). The reader is very good. These are cute, campy, and fun. Sookie is the Stephanie Plum of the paranormal world, always finding herself in some sort of trouble!

Best Sookie yet!

I don't want to spill any plot spoilers, but let me just say that this 4th installment in the Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mystery series delivers on every front - lots of action, steamy romance, and a fine mystery. The reader, Johanna Parker, does her usual fine job of giving a voice to Sookie and her many supernatural admirers. I'm so glad to (finally!) complete my Sookie library with this audiobook!

Air-Head

I was always a fan of the Anne Rice Vampire Cronicles and for many years I have been hoping to find another vampire series that I would enjoy as much. I thought I had found it with this series but I was wrong. I enjoyed the first book a lot but each book has gotten a little worse. I am a third of the way through this book and I don't think I could be happier that my credits came today so I can move on to something else.(went with the new James Lee Burke) Sookie has becomes such a pig I can't take it anymore. Anytime she gets around a man that is even half way good looking she is so wet my Ipod is dripping. I don't know if the author is doing some sort of womans lib. thing or what but it is so disturbing to listen to her whine over whether she should screw this one or whack off that one. I cant take it. Why isn't Fabio on the cover of these books because that is what this series has become, second rate romance novels. I don't need chapter after chapter of sexual episodes and sexual tension. These are supposed to be mystery novels. Charlaine Harris isn't that very good of a writer to begin with but I hope she can get back to weaving a descent story in the next book. I am sure I will finish this book because I hate not finishing a book but I am in no rush. Don't get me wrong the sex scenes are very steamy and hot but that is not what I am looking for when I am listening at work. I think a lot of the guys in the machine shop I work at don't want to see me walking around with a "Stake" of my own. Hope she gets back to mystery end of the stories in the later books.

Can't get enough of vampire Eric

I really liked this book. Listening about Eric becoming sensitive and romantic was so amazing... Too bad it did not last. Great entertaining story with perfect narration. Johanna Parker is the perfect Sookie and does a great job with all the different voices.
