Publisher's summary

A cop interrogates a perp in a lizard costume that seems all too real.

An all-powerful superhero protects his city - and they better like it.

An average Joe finds out that being undead isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

Including three never-before-published stories, Dead Men Can't Complain is the first-ever collection of short fiction by Peter Clines, author of 14, The Fold, and other Audible smash hits. It was over too soon

I enjoyed myself when I stumbled upon 14 a few years back. I couldn't put it down. The same goes for The Fold and now this new set of stories. If you are into anything that makes you think then this is for you. Definitely worth the credit.

Readers Shan't Complain Either

Wonderful collection... Weirdly eclectic and amusing.... You've got your aliens, zombies, superheroes, artificial beings, werewolves, lawmen, mad scientists, etc... I liked all the stories, which can be unusual for some collections, and loved most... If you like the author's other works you'll definitely enjoy... If you haven't read him this would be a nice introduction... There's a nice post "Ex" story in here, and many w/ wonderful twists and reveals... The performance is fantastic...

Love Clines' Writing & Porter's Narration

So, what is not to like about the writing of Peter Clines paired with Ray Porter's voice?!?!? This was an excellent compilation of short stories that were well narrated by both narrators. I particularly enjoyed the first short story (the title escapes me) and the title story. The stories were of varying lengths and all of them kept my interest. The only complaint I have is that some of them ended too abruptly; but perhaps that is just a sign that they were so good that I wanted more! The abrupt endings of some of the stories was what kept this from being a 5 star rating.

Peter Clines Is a Spinner of Wonder

Don't let the short run time make you think it's not worth a credit.

There's half a dozen stories here with plots worthy of full novels. Clines manages to convey them concisely & colourfully.

Top Marks.

Buy this if you have read any of Mr.Clines books or if you want a taste of a great author

I love the fact each story is completely different.
You find some shared universes. but the perspective and originality of each story has me very impressed.

I believe the short story is the hardest form of writing, and when done correctly is the most rewarding.

A must read for all fans and a goof example if you do not know his work.

Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon.

Well Narrated

Pretty good, some stories were great, but I felt I barely got into one before the next story started. It was sometimes difficult to tell that a new story had begun since they don't seem to always have titles. Some stories were a bit gross for me. I like clines work, just thought this was a collection of both good and bad, jumbled together.

Left me wanting more

Gotta love the Peter Clines/Ray Porter combination, it just sounds right. Dig Clines style, but man, I kept wanting to hear more about these characters and their stories. Some of these are very strong and would work well as a full length others are simply that short story material, nothing wrong with that either. Looking forward to more Clines and more Ray Porter!

Inspiring

This solidified Clines as my absolute new favorite author. It's the type of work(s) that makes me wish I would've majored in English and seriously gave writing a chance as a career. Truly inspiring. Loved every bit of this and can't wait for more from him.

Out of the Box stories

This book ended to soon for me. I could keep listening to these type of stories and I like the way they tie back to the books.
