The new Charles and Anna novel
Praised as "the perfect blend of action, romance, suspense and paranormal" (Rex Robot Reviews), the Alpha and Omega novels transport listeners into the realm of the werewolf, where Charles Cornick and Anna Latham embody opposite sides of the shifter personality. Now a pleasure trip drops the couple into the middle of some bad supernatural business....
For once, mated werewolves Charles and Anna are not traveling because of Charles' role as his father's enforcer. This time their trip to Arizona is purely personal, as Charles plans to buy Anna a horse for her birthday. Or at least it starts out that way....
Charles and Anna soon discover that a dangerous Fae being is on the loose, replacing human children with simulacrums. The Fae's cold war with humanity is about to heat up - and Charles and Anna are in the cross fire.

This is the best In the series thus far. The story was detailed with great insight into the Charles's past. I usually multitask when listening to a book, but this one reeled me in so often I would find myself just listening. Worth the credit and more.
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
This was a great addition to the series. I love this series and love Anna and Charles and this story was another example of why I love them so much. TBH, I had a little trouble deciding between 4 and 5 stars but I found that I just couldn't rate it lower than 5 stars. I had 1 complaint about the story (noted below) but it wasn't anything too serious.
This story starts with Anna's birthday coming up and Charles is trying to figure out what to get her for her birthday. Around this time, Charles gets a call from an old friend, Joseph. Joseph is a very old friend (in his 80s now) who is the son of a werewolf that Charles knows. Unfortunately, Joseph won't let himself be turned into a werewolf and now he's an old man and soon to die. Joseph's family runs a horse breeding (and training) ranch in Scottsdale, AZ so Charles decides to take Anna down to visit his friend and to see about possibly buying her a horse. Unfortunately, almost as soon as Charles and Anna arrive, they get pulled into an issue involving a fae that is endangering children. They soon find themselves working with Leslie again (the FBI agent they worked with in book #3) as well as some CANTRIP agents, trying to find the culprit behind the fae magic. It's an interesting story and Charles and Anna have some difficult times to get past before everything is concluded. There is some sadness but things turn out pretty good in the end, allowing Charles and Anna to continue with their HEA.
I really enjoyed this story a lot. I really love Briggs' writing and I love how she writes Charles and Anna, they're just are such a great couple! I really liked the story but if I had one complaint about it, it would be that I wish there had been a bit more of the story focussed on Charles and Anna without the action plot providing distraction. It wasn't bad really but looking back on the story I do think that was slightly out of balance. Still, I really enjoyed this story a lot and loved the characters. I'd recommend this story. 2 thumbs up! :D
Really good book. It's always nice to read an Anna and Charles story. They are so good together. All her secondary characters were really well done, same with the plot.
Josef made me really sad until the end. I thought the end really worked out well for him and everyone. Narrator did a great job. I finished this the day it came out so that tells you how good I think it was.
This was very enjoyable
How Charles and Anna relationship get better and easier. The plot was just wonderful and I never lost interest .
He is wonderful. I love him reading books. He makes you really get into the characters. Sometimes if I'm not sure about a book, just knowing he is the narrator tips the scale for me. I know he is going to bring out the best of the book. So far I have been right every time.
I loved it. It mad me do both
I love the Alpha and Omega series. I couldn't wait for this to come out. I was not disappointed at all. I am so looking forward to the next book
I always enjoy Patricia Briggs' book and I normally like Holter Graham's narration. Unfortunately he slightly changed the voice for Charles in this book and it was a disappointing change. Hopefully he will revert back to the way he initially performed Charles' voice for the next book in this series.
Just Another Audiobook Addict! Love listening to all types of romances, but occasionally need a good Sci-Fi, Fantasy, or a book with humor!
Patricia Brigg's stories hold a special place among my favorites! I love her Alpha and Omega series.
The world, characters and plot are well thought out and developed. Patricia has done a superb job developing a world full of werewolves, fae and other super naturals, and provides such rich details regarding pack dynamics, behaviors of dominate and submissive wolves, and magic, this world seems so real and tangible.
Anna and Charles are two of my favorite characters; however, I love Brother Wolf, he's fierce, loving and protective of Anna, it's too sweet!
One of the best shifter series that balances action, suspense, romance and the supernatural.
Graham's narration is great!
Say something about yourself!

First Thought when Finished: Dead Heat by Paticia Briggs was another amazing entry in the Alpha & Omega Series.
Overall Thoughts: Charles and Anna are my favorite couple (yes they beat Mercy and Adam). I like the maturity and growth of their relationship over the series. Not to beat a drum but I like that it is a grown ass relationship with bumps, communication, and compromise. The story was strong too. I liked all the twists, turns, and continuation of the world. The only thing will be the wait!
Narrated By Holter Graham / Length: 11 hrs and 25 mins
Holter is one of my favorite narrators and he really nails this series. It does take a bit to warm up to Anna's voice but by book 4 I love it :)

Book Addict and a Fantasy Fanatic!
Charles is such an awesome character. I love everthing about him. His physical featues from the hair to the earrings makes a girl want to REALLY know him.The author does a great job in her Mercy Thompson books of getting you intrigued by him. The assassin: Cold, Quiet, Deadly, and Handsome. In the Alpha and Omega series, Briggs really tries to get the readers to know his softer side. I completely understand the need to give your readers some background on why a character is a certain way. However in the previous books his sensitivity kinda hurts his image more. We already find out he is not as scary as we thought and now he is all sensative too.For once I thought we had a tough guy who wouldn't go all mushy.
However, this book hits the mark better. I think it does what she was trying to do in the first three. In Dead Heat, you see alittle into Charles' past outside of his father's pack. You get better understanding of why he never mated.
One of the minor story lines in this book is that the were-woman cannot carry a child. Ive always thought JUST GET A SURROGATE?... this book is the first time that option was brought up. In this particular series why not ask Mercy? Mercy would be a great SURROGATE because she doesn't have to change. Plus she could carry a completely human baby or a shape shifter. Seems perfect to me.
"What the heck?"
The reader is the same for this title as for the other three in the series, and while I don't like him as much as the reader of the Mercy novels, he's been ok. But for some bizarre reason, in this book he's read the entire thing like he's trying to pitch his voice an octave below where it belongs. "Gravelly" and "breathy" don't begin to cover it. It's like he's auditioning for a satire of batman. It would be annoying enough on its own, but after three books hearing the characters speak in a different way, suddenly changing their voices is SO annoying. Boo.
"Disappointed in the narration"
I prefer the Mercy Thompson narrator. I was uncomfortable with Holter Graham's voices for women and, particularly, children. I love this series, so was fed-up and disappointed. However, still worth buying for the characters and story.
The main characters.
Depiction of women and children,
The rescue would have been moving if it wasn't for the child's voice. Dreadful.
I'm so glad that Audible is selling more books by Patricia Briggs. I hope the complete two series will appear soon.
I love all the Charles and Anna books and the Mercy books too. I wish there was more of both. This is a simple story but has good characters and interesting themes. Proper escapism.
"Alpha & Omega Story Continues Brilliantly"
The story continues to develop the relationship between Charles and Anna and increases our knowledge of the Werewolf world.
I enjoyed the development of the feelings of long lived Werewolves and how they cope with passing of non wolf family. The development of the emotional connections was very well written as you would expect from a Patricia Briggs book
There is never a question in your mind as to who is speaking, Holter Graham has a different voice for each character including the children. He is very good, I didn't at anytime feel he was a man pretending to be a woman. Holter added to the pleasure I got from listening to this book.
The book is too large to listen to at one sitting but I did complete it over three days and will be listening to it again.
