Publisher's summary

"My name is Mike Ross and I'm a Ferryman - like in the Greek myth. I didn't ask for, or really want, the job, but I'm trying to make the best of it. Most ghosts are okay and just need a little help to get where they need to go. Unfortunately, there are lots of exceptions, like power-mad psychopaths, spirits still trying to fight battles long since lost, and the worst of the lot - the Skinwalkers. They live vicariously by possessing people and controlling them like puppet masters. Then they toss them aside when they've outlived their usefulness. One of them stole my father 15 years ago, and now I'm going to make that ghost pay."

I. Love. this. Author. and the narrator.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have recommended this audiobook, and the hard copy books to many friends. I really like the fascinating perspective, and the fun storyline. I especially like that sometimes Ross is just so god damn retarded, but the author makes it work out in the end, and in a very satisfying way. Ross is a great main character, and I love these books.
Can't wait for more!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Helll yaaaa. Laughed my way through a couple parts of the book :)

Skinwalker book 2

Any additional comments?

This is the second in a series.I really enjoyed the first book and this is nearly as good.Mike can see and deal with ghosts. He gets bombarded with requests from them to get messages ,etc to their loved ones.He gets to settle skirmishes, save people etc.A ghost or skinwalker may have killed his father years earlier and now he is out to get that one.Skinwalkers live thru the people they inhabit. He runs into interference from many sources. It is a laugh out loud kind of book.Jeffrey Kafer brings Mike and everyone to life as the narrator. He's great at his job."I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via AudiobookBlast or MalarHouse dot com"

Sarcastic wit and ghost

This book doesn't exactly go on the belief of what a Skinwalker really is but it has its good points. The story is fast paced with a good storyline. I like the characters even though if some of them weren't ghost I would make them ghost. This is my first book by this author so I am not used to his style yet. I received this audio book at my request and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Nice to spend more time with Mike Ross....

The supernatural mystery and adventure continues. I'll be looking out for more work by Jim Bernheimer.

Dependable fantasy/mystery series

What did you like best about this story?

I am a sucker for this genre that blends mystery or crime in parallel universe of ghosts or wizards etc. ala Dresden files, The Iron Druid or even Monster hunters international. A common thread here is wisecracking long suffering hero's.

Have you listened to any of Jeffrey Kafer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I very much enjoyed this reading

Any additional comments?

Although not really a distraction, this book reads as if each chapter was written like a monthly installment in a mystery magazine or web series, although I have no personal knowledge of this. On several occasions we are reminded of an incident that needed no reiteration unless the listener had been away from the story for an extended period of time.

The second book is even better

The first book in the series is good, but this one is better. If you liked the first story you'll definitely approve of this one. The pace of the tale picks up and the stakes rise rapidly. The only bad thing about this book is that the follow up has still not been written. The author says he is working on it and I am looking forward to it. This is definitley a series to watch in the future.
