"My name is Mike Ross. I'm a Ferryman. I help people with ghost problems, or ghosts with people problems. Funny thing, no one ever helps me with my problems. Civil War ghosts bent on killing me, Skinwalkers who just want my body, and a vindictive spirit linked both to my bloodline and my destiny.... It turns out the dead still hold a good deal of influence over the world, and they don't want to give it up. I'm in way over my head. Fortunately, I'm too stubborn to quit."

Where does Dead Eye: Pennies for the Ferryman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Well, there are a few areas that feel rushed or could have been more complete. For example, in the beginning his realization that he could see ghosts was accepted by this injured soldier so easily was a little out of character for him and although this was a bother for me it did not stop this from being a fair story and I did download the second. I just ignored this and got into the rest of the story. Not Bad.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dead Eye: Pennies for the Ferryman?

His first physical contact with the "mother ghost" . There is physical pain involved to his touching ghosts and this was a cool concept.

Which scene was your favorite?

His bus rides and how his pride is hurt and I felt sympathy and his injuries.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A soldiers job is never done.

Not Bad, I mostly enjoyed this one

Jim Bernheimer give us an enjoyable story that delivers a good balance of triumph and tragedy.

Mike Ross is well round and relatable character who is also a change from the usual selfless hero. At the same time he is also not another "loveable asshole" either. Instead we are treated to morally grey character who has the rare originality to his personalty.

Each supporting have their own personalities and add all the more flavor the story.

Everything from the setup to execution is done superbly. The only thing I didn't was the ending but that was because of personal preference.

Jeffrey Kafer's performance however leave much to be desired. Though he manages to give Mike his own "voice" the other characters sound bland and often lackluster.

Great Concept, Awesome Delivery

Hi there all,
I got this title on a whi, and was so glad that I did. This book is full of humour as well as excitement, I love the toungue in cheek throw away's, they are such a change from glooming horror. Oh yes there are scenes of horror all right, but the side on humour is a good thing as well. If you are looking for a book with a difference, this is it, and it keeps you reading far into the A.M. so look out for some late night's and enjoy....

I got this on a whim, so glad I did!

Great story, narration and a solid start to the series. Hope the author writes more stories in this setting beyond the first two books.

Great series!
